I was going to let it go when Politico did it but now NBC’s done it too, so let’s take a moment. The new narrative about fingerpointing within Team Maverick is starting to congeal and naturally Palin, given her unfavorables, is expected to be Scapegoat #1.
Hence the media interest today in Tom Ridge hinting McCain would win Pennsylvania if he was VP, which is arguably true but overlooks the minor detail of how those red states McCain desperately needs to hold would have reacted to a pro-choice VP.
Here’s the latest obvious attempt to advance the ball, distorting an innocent line by the guy who was reportedly passed over for the ‘Cuda to make it sound like he thinks she’s not ready:
U.S. Sen. Joseph Lieberman Friday continued to stand by Republican John McCain’s selection of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as a running mate.
But when asked by The Advocate if Palin is ready to be president from day one, Lieberman said “thank God she’s not going to have to be president from day one. McCain’s going to be alive and well.” Do I actually need to explain this? The prospect is raised of a close friend dying and he says, essentially, “thank god he’s not dead,” and the media’s reading it as “thank god that halfwit on the bottom of the ticket won’t be in charge.”
Read down a bit further in the interview, though, and you’ll find this: “Let’s hope she never has to be ready because we hope McCain is elected and live out his term,” Lieberman said. “But if, God forbid, an accident occurs or something of that kind, she’ll be ready. She’s had executive experience. She’s smart. And she will have had on-the-job training.” Are people seriously suggesting

She looks like the mad magazine guy in a way. Maybe its the round glasses. Anyhow, I have pretty much shut of any ingestion of tv “news” although I will was a snippet of Hannity and Alien, and a little of Greta. Special report, Shep, and O reilly are just in the toilet.

Exactly, they want her to be damaged. It’s beyond pathetic at this point. The polls have showed McCain gaining or staying the same, so what exactly in the last week did she do to realistically become the scapegoat?

What I am mainly hoping is that out of this people will finally turn off the Dem media once and for all, and the GOP will finally stop catering to them once and for all.
For decades we have complained about media bias and have essentially done nothing about it when we ought to have been developing our own networks.
Its always been bad but this time the Dem media hacks have really pulled out all the stops, and I hope it finally gets through people’s heads that the media is not biased, it isn’t bias: the media “is” the DNC. The media is a major faction within the DNC, a major part of DNC leadership, and a major client of the DNC.
As long as the GOP continues to borrow the DNC’s microphones and the DNC’s newsprint to try and get its message out, they, we, are always going to be behind the curve, always see our message and our motives and our philosophy distorted. We shouldn’t expect anything else. We should be building our own networks, and freezing out any media folks who reveal themselves to be propagandists. Thats most of them, almost all of them. But thats fine. Build our own networks, pull the plug on the old adulterated ones, turn them off completely.
Couric wants an interview? Really? Are you serious? Letterman wants you on his show? Really? Whoopi would like to do a hard-hitting segment on the View? Is that so?
Turn them off. Get your news from radio, from FR. Out of 200 channels on cable at least one should be available for guerrilla conservative thought and entertainment. Turn the rest of these people off. Given the choice between MSNBC, CNN, and the other 198 channels, it should be an easy choice.
