Lots of McCain signs in the outlying coastal areas (we're in Oregon right now). Some guy saw the sticker on my car and tried to engage me in a debate, complaining about all the money we spend on defense. Don't give up...

BTW that Merkley fellow sounds like a real character.

“I so wish Oregon were in play...”

I’m still not convinced that Oregon and many other states are not in play this year. I live in one of the burbs outside Portland, and I see very few Obama or McCain bumper stickers and yard signs here. Most of the adults I know are voting for McCain this time around, and a lot of them voted for Kerry last time around (to my dismay). Most of the former Kerry supporters are democrats and voted for Hillary in the primaries.

I have two children in school, and they tell me that the parents of most of their friends are also voting for MCain, so I wouldn’t be surprised if, the race here is a lot closer than the pollsters are telling us.

No matter what state you live in, if we all get out there and talk to people, I still believe we can win this election, expecially with the PUMA’s on our side. Don’t give up hope anywhere!
