Cool. By chance I stumbled upon this on YouTube a week ago or so. It's an Edison cylinder recording of the poet, Robert Browning from 1889.

I also heard a recording of Tennyson from 1890 - The Charge of the Light Brigade - which blew me away. His hypnotizing way of reciting the poem - the rhythm and flow - was totally unexpected. Read the poem along with him as he recites it - it's awesome.

This stuff is too cool.

However, it does increase my appreciation for the modern urban environment... which I still avoid whenever possible.
