A Pittsburgh police commander says a volunteer for the McCain campaign who reported being robbed and attacked near a bank ATM in Bloomfield has confessed to making up the story. Police say charges will be filed. More details to follow.

Thank you. Mine, too. I was thinking about it since I read the article last night, was wary as it was, a need for attention, she needs the right kind of help if she can ever get it. She did commit a criminal act, hurt some people, but hurt herself and possibly her family worse.
I don't think trashing her is the right thing to do.

Let me try this again: I wouldn’t be surprised if this had no effect at all on the McCain campaign. MSM may not want to run this story because it does raise the specter of black on white violence, even though it turned out to be a hoax. They think most Americans are pretty stupid, and if they run the story, a lot of us will get the facts mixed up, or not hear all of the facts, so that we end up thinking, incorrectly, that a black man, as an Obama supporter, attacked a white woman. That’s just my guess; we’ll see what happens.

I will say, at the risk of sounding like a bleeding heart, I think the girl has real problems and needs both punishment AND help. Hope she gets it.
I also dont think this will hurt McCain at all. He comes across as compasisonate for calling the girl, but not knee jerky since he never accused the O camp of having anything to do with it.

I think that she’s a nutter, regardless of party affiliation.
Might have gotten an idea to be famous from Joe the Plumber, but my guess is that her troubles have been brewing for quite some time and that somewhere back in her home town in Texas there are about a bunch of folks thinking “Yeah, I can’t say that is such a big surprise.”
