Today's TIPP has some very nice news, but the internals are a bit odd. They have more than 1/5 Obama supporters self identifying as "conservative" and a "turn around for McCain of down 9 points to up 11" with Catholics. I'm doubtful McCain has been down with Catholics since the spring before the true anti life nature of Obama has been made clear to Catholics.

Obama is the death candidate. Death to those who won’t reeducate. Death to those babies who manage to survive thier mother’s attempts to abort. Death to those who dare not understand Barack’s genius. Death death death.

Fox News Radio reported Obama spent ONE HOUR with GRANDMA and left. Just like his August visit.

I don’t believe in the Bradley effect.

Rather, I believe when a Democrat is called by a pollster, he or she is more afraid to admit they are voting for McCain than they are to admit they will not vote for Obama.

Because in the back of their minds, they fear the person on the other end KNOWS they are a Democrat and thus will put them on the black list, so to speak, if they admit to supporting McCain.

Make sense?

One more week folks. One more week and we can remove this nightmare and go Christmas shopping with happiness, knowing our futures are secure with President elect John Sidney McCain.

Glad to see this. It mirrors what I thought when I saw Time Magazine’s poll two weeks ago that claimed Obama was up by 6 over McCain. But the internals told a story that this post seems to echo. Time oversampled Democrats in their poll by 11% (41-30) with the rest of the 29% “independents”. Imagine that - Obama could only manage a lead of barely half of the oversampling margin. Which told me one of two things was true: either the Hillary supporters are basically telling Obama to pound sand & won’t vote for him; or all the Democrats are in line together but the independents are almost all breaking for McCain.

Either way, the Time poll was not good news for the Obama camp, in my view.

Rove mentioned a stat that actually went up that’s the most teling indictment of Obama: 45% (up from 44%) do NOT believe he’s qualified to be president. Haven’t seen any stats on this in about 10 days - anyone know where that number is now?

60% of Americans are self identified ‘conservatives.’
This is why a true Reagan conservative running against a clearly defined liberal/socialist/leftist will always win.

McCain has done a poor job of defining himself as a true Reagan conservative or 0bama as a liberal/socialist/leftist.

McCain has finally figured it out, but he has done so very late, after impressions are already fairly hardened. He squandered the entire summer allowing 0bama to redefine himself as a mainstream, middle of the road politician.

This is why so many people who consider themselves to be ‘conservative’ (but mostly still Democrats) find 0bama acceptable enough to vote for. McCain has done such a poor job of defining 0bama a the unacceptable radical leftist that he is, that he’s lost much of the RINO elites to 0bama, even. And these are people who for the most part steadfastly stood by Bush.

McCain needs to realign his attacks on 0bama’s associations, not as “he hasn’t been completely forthcoming on the relationship” but instead as connecting the ideological dots. All of 0bama’s controversial associations are with people on the extreme radical left. McCain should call them 0bama’s ‘BRAINTRUST’.

Very interesting post....we’ve definitely seen an “uptick” from the media on the rhetoric that Obama is winning in a landslide.....maybe he’s not.....

They have more than 1/5 Obama supporters self identifying as "conservative"...

Not hard to understand. If I were called I'd say I'm voting for Obama to screw their polls but be honest about my political beliefs...

If you have run a small business you know you have to keep your politics to yourself and if a liberal tries to nail you down, you imply you are a Democrat to survive as Liberals will often boycott you if they discover you are not “one of them”.
If you have neighbors who are Liberals your only way to survive it to just go along with their talk and try to avoid them as arguing with a Liberal only causes a lot problems in your life.
In other words many, many Conservatives appear to be Liberals until they reach the voting booth. There it is call vengeance and it is sweet.

Obama has a 'base' problem?

Here is the problem I see with Obama’s “base.”

I have doubts that they will even show up to the polls.

I have hired many minimum wage people. Usually, I have to hire at least TWO just so ONE shows up on the first day of work. Then I can’t get them to do anything when they show up.

I have others who are customers and fail to show up for appointments. Fail to make their scheduled payments.

So I have doubts that all of his people will even show.

I think the Bradley effect may be at work in this sense: many people who intend to vote for McCain are telling the pollsters that they are undecided.

If the AP is correct, Barack Obama’s base problem is very serious.

Slowly but surely the wolf in sheep's clothing is being shown for who he is. Much of the base will stick by him -- hatred for Republicans, party affiliation and a belief that the MSM is smearing Obama (go figure). But the more that is exposed, the more of his supporters are jumping ship.

I think many peopel are also seeing that this race is about race. And I think more people are beginning to see what a sham the MSM is.

I think Obama’s camp must realize they are in more trouble than anyone thinks. Now they are trying to scare people into supporting Obama by putting out these stories about the police preparing for riots and civil unrest on election night. Oh, the stories never mention Obama’s brothas...ummm...base., but I somehow doubt that the police are worried that McCain voters are going to be rioting throughout small towns in Texas if the election doesn't go his way...

My mother was polled Thursday. She’s a Dem, supported Hillary. She told the pollster she’s voting McCain because of his experience and she trusts him to protect America. Told the pollster she “doesn’t trust Obama and he hasn’t done 1 damn thing to deserve to be President”.

If Obama loses this election, it will absolutely be due to racism. But while that racism will be blamed on the Republicans, it should be laid completely at the Democrats feet.

Republicans will not vote for Obama because he just doesn’t represent our views. Most Democrats, on the other hand, stand for everything Obama represents. What other argument could be made for their lack of support other than racism?

The Democrat party has been - and will always be - the party of racism in America.
