Sarah Palin invoked Joe the Plumber and Joe the Quarterback last night in a combination political-pep rally in a packed football stadium in Beaver County -- an overwhelmingly Democratic blue-collar region being energetically sought by the Republican ticket in the waning days of the presidential campaign.
Ms. Palin, the GOP vice presidential nominee, invoked native son Joe Namath's upset win with the New York Jets in the 1969 Super Bowl and attacked Democratic nominee Barack Obama's economic proposals as socialism.
"He's hiding his agenda of redistributing your hard-earned money," Ms. Palin, the Alaska governor, told a raucous crowd at the Beaver High School Stadium.
She cited Mr. Obama's encounter earlier this month with Joe Wurzelbacher, a Toledo, Ohio, plumber who pressed him to explain his tax policies. At the time, Mr. Obama cited his proposal to raise taxes on incomes over $250,000 as an attempt to "spread the wealth."
"Somehow Joe accomplished something none of the rest of us has been able to do. He got our opponent to finally state his intentions in plain language," Ms. Palin said. "Joe the Plumber said it sounded like socialism. Now is not the time to experiment with socialism."
Even before Ms. Palin invoked that term, some in the crowd were shouting it, with one adding, "Tell him to go back to Indonesia. Tell him to show his birth certificate."

I'm so glad the "s" word is appearing in her speeches. We need to use it whenever it applies in order to educate the public about what, exactly, the democrats long for this country to become--The USSRA.
re students shouting that Obama should show his birth certificate —— somebody’s been reading FR!!!!!
Good for them — great turnout at that rally.
Looks like quite a few pups have a crush on Ms Sarah. lol
I enjoy the liberals reply....it’s NOT Socialism! You’re a Fascist!
sigh
The name-calling started with Clinton/Carville; Obama and Olbermann took it to a level that would have Goebbels cringing in fear.
1969 superbowel was paid off! I still won’t believe
Joe wille Namath beat the Master Unitas.
SARAH your good! Anyone who can recall that game deserves to
win.
Yep and Michael Savage finally opened up the whole thing further with an interview of Phillip Berg. The guy didn’t sound like a nut. Also it is pretty clear Obama was a member of the Socialist New Party.
This birth certificate issue is Big. Just the fact that he won’t release his records IS news. As long as Obama continues to hide those records, any and all speculation is valid. Especially since the media is bought and paid for. I’ve never seen such rampant bias. My husband is an independent and can’t stand to see the media bias.
I don’t know about everyone here but I feel this race is turning. There is something breaking beneath the waters and it is something good. We have been blessed and our enemies are being laid down before us.
I agree. I think it should be focused on, but only as part of the overall top 100 hits. I say this, because if you focus on it and he can diffuse the issue by providing a certificate, you don’t want ‘the’ major objection to dissolve.
I do think it's amusing that the "Fascist!" label has really gotten worn thin. The next thing will have to be something recycled--I predict a return of "Capitalist pig!"
Look at Sarah in the picture. Her body posture tells me she is quite aware of her predicament - wearing a skirt and having those young men under her.
It reminds me of a few times I’ve worn a dress or skirt and climbed up certain types of “unfriendly” stairs, totally self-conscious that the men below were watching. Ugh! Hate that!
Capitalist Pig? You may be right!
Wasn’t it Capitalist Pig-Dog?
Running Dog Capitalist Pig Fascist Monkey!
It was a great game as upsets go but imo it doesn’t come close to the upset of the Pats by the Giants last year.
You inspired me to do it - I am one of the Final 300!
Thanks...done.
Earl Morrall started the game and missed seeing Jimmy Orr in the shadows of Shea Stadium in the endzone just before the half.
#19 came in late in the game as a desperate move. I was bewildered as a 14 yr old that the Colts lost that game.
