Twice. I think he had to tread this one before the 2000 primaries— My understanding wasn’t that he had “passed” an eligibility test, but that he could make the authoritative argument in court if need be.

Does anyone else get the feeling that this election is going to rest on litigation?

It is my ubderstanding that any military base the U.S. has is considered American territory, so McCain being born on a military base is indeed a U.S. citizen.

Hence the double-standard. Yes McCain was born in Panama, but while his father was active duty. There was a vetting process that clarified that McCain was fully eligible to become President. The DNC and Barry himself are spending time and money to NOT prove he is eligible. Why, unless there is something to hide. Recently it was stated that to reveal his "real" COLB might be "embarrassing to the candidate". What the heck does THAT mean?
