McCain might skip his own election-night party

John McCain's election night watch party might be missing John McCain. Instead of appearing before a throng of supporters at the Biltmore Hotel in Phoenix on the evening of Nov. 4, the Republican presidential nominee plans to deliver postelection remarks to a small group of reporters and guests on the hotel's lawn.

Aides said Thursday that the arrangement was due to space limitations and that McCain might drop by the election watch party at some other point.

McCain's remarks will be piped electronically into the party and media filing center, aides said. Only a small press "pool" — mostly those who have traveled regularly with the candidate on his campaign plane, plus a few local Arizona reporters and others — will be physically present when he speaks.

This sounds very modest - can’t he rent the whole Grand Canyon, or all of Las Vegas to out-do Obama?

Well this confuses me. He is either going to make a Up Yours statement to the media pool. Or say concession and leave quietly into the night. This is an odd story.

Maybe he is trying to show the world that it is “substance over glitz.”

I think it is really a fine gesture! When our country is hurting like it is, a great leader does not think about celebrating but rejoicing the fact that our democracy was saved.

On the other hand. you look at Obama’s plan and you see a deprived king who wants to show the world his new possessions. Shame!

S I G H

Couldn’t we at least have a candidate that acts like he wants to be president?

I sincerely don’t think he wants to be. I think the GOP pushed him.

I think it is also to show he isn’t like obana. obana is making plans for his coronation. This won’t be lost on a lot of Amercans.

Not only if he wins will he--and everyone--be in danger. Remember Detroit when the Pistons, I think it was, won the championship.

I voted absentee, but canceled travel plans to stay home and try to protect my family and property.

Keep your powder dry for either situation.

Well, you must admit that the Anointed One's Election Night Victory Celebration Shocking Loss attended by a million happy supporters angry rioters in Chicago's Grant Park will make for more interesting television.

The idea is that McCain knows he is going to lose, so he will he want to be alone. Chalk this one up to the same report of them pulling out of CO - total propaganda meant to discourage turnout for McCain.

I wouldn’t even be on a lawn after this election if he wins.

This man is a marked man for four years if he wins. I hope the elaborate stage and garbage remnants of the DNC Convention broohah party that Obama is setting up is starkly contracted by a modest acceptance speech with McCain.

Alot of people are struggling right now and seeing the unbelievable amount of money being spent on a party is too much to take.

“I’m sure there is a reason...but I sure do not understand this.”

Well the positive is that McCain having a small affair makes Obama’s coronation look monarchial.
