PITTSBURGH -- A 20-year-old woman who was robbed at an ATM in Bloomfield was also maimed by her attacker, police said.
Pittsburgh police spokeswoman Diane Richard tells Channel 4 Action News that the victim was robbed at knifepoint on Wednesday night outside of a Citizens Bank near Liberty Avenue and Pearl Street just before 9 p.m.
Richard said the robber took $60 from the woman, then became angry when he saw a McCain bumper sticker on the victim's car. The attacker then punched and kicked the victim, before using the knife to scratch the letter "B" into her face, Richard said.
Richard said the woman refused medical treatment after the assault, which happened outside the view of the bank's surveillance cameras.
The robber is described as a dark-skinned black man, 6 feet 4 inches tall, 200 pounds with a medium build, short black hair and brown eyes. The man was wearing dark colored jeans, a black undershirt and black shoes.

I am sorry, I did not suggest anything about killing anyone. I am indeed skeptical about her story. Did you mean to post this to me? or were you just posting to anyone your thoughts? I would agree with you, we should all wait to see how this plays out.

Yes, I would agree with this except what I don't understand is why these are only scratches. An ignorant enraged attacker would have more likely left her with at least 1/4 inch deep cuts and probably much deeper.
I can’t remember her screen name but she’s from Lufkin, TX. She told a rude Obama caller she wouldn’t vote for Obama bec he leaves babies to die at hospitals. Obama’s caller wasn’t listening exactly and turned her in for threatening to put Bambi DOA in a hospital. SS showed up at her door.
I heard this story today and saw the pic of her with the black eye and the BACKWARDS “B” on her face.....this is a dead giveaway that it was self-inflicted as she looked at herself in a mirror/ Many years ago, the loose cannon TV personality Morton Downey Jr. made up a story that he was accosted and beaten in an airport washroom (the somehow had no witnesses for corroboration). His story involved Nazis or KKK or something of the sort, and they too disfigured his forehead, but it was also BACKWARDS. Caught in the lie, Downey had to admit it later. I think this story is cut from the same cloth. And unfortunately, it will probably be reported in the MSM, who will gloat over the lengths to which McCain supporters will go to slander Obama.

A knife-wielding man robbed a McCain-Palin campaign volunteer and etched a “B” into her face after he saw a McCain bumper sticker on the woman’s car, Pittsburgh police said.
Ashley Todd, 20, of College Station, Texas, was using an ATM at Liberty Avenue and Pearl Street in Bloomfield just before 9 p.m. Wednesday when a man approached her, put a knife to her throat and demanded $60, police said.
Todd handed the man $60 she had in her pocket and stepped away from him, investigators said. The man then noticed the bumper sticker on the woman's car, which was parked in front of the ATM. The man became very angry, made comments to Todd about John McCain and punched her in the back of the head, knocking her to the ground, police said.
"He continued to kick and punch her repeatedly and said he would teach her a lesson for supporting John McCain," said police Chief Nate Harper.
The man then carved the "B" into Todd's right cheek. Todd, who isn't familiar with the area, drove to a friend's house nearby and told her friend she wasn't sure of the exact location where the robbery took place but remembered a green sign above the ATM. The friend called police and the officer met them on Cypress Street in Bloomfield, police said.
Todd's friend offered to drive her back in the direction she came from to look at ATMs until she found the right one, police said. A police officer followed until Todd pointed out a Citizens Bank ATM at Liberty and Pearl, police said.
She declined medical treatment at the scene and said she would go to a hospital today.
Todd declined to comment.
"She is a volunteer for the McCain-Palin campaign," said campaign spokesman Peter Feldman. "Sen. McCain has reached out to her via telephone and has spoken to her and her family,” as has McCain’s running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, Feldman said. “Out of respect for her privacy we're not going to comment further."
Democrat Barack Obama's campaign released a statement saying: “Our thoughts and prayers are with the young woman for her to make a speedy recovery, and we hope that the person who perpetrated this crime is swiftly apprehended and brought to justice."
Police described the suspect as black, about 6-foot-4, and said he was wearing dark-colored jeans and a black undershirt.
The ATM has a security camera and investigators are trying to watch the video, police said.

I’m impressed by the number of people who fear this is a hoax, so much so that they won’t give any credit to this woman’s story. Are we conditioned to be afraid of what the other side might say?
Look, if this is proven to be a hoax, I’ll agree with the critics. Until then, I have no reason to doubt this woman.
I doubt she'd lie to her friend like that. Her friend was there for her.
It’s been observed on other threads that many of Obama’s black supporters refer to him a “Barack” instead of “Obama.” Hence, the “B.”
I myself have noticed this when black supporters call into radio shows.
I don’t have an opinion either way on this, yet. I do know if the story had been white redneck carving an “M” into the cheek of a young black woman, the MSM would be reacting quite differently.
They wouldn’t care if it was true, or not.
What is our country coming to, when you can't even have a bumper sticker on your car espousing the candidate of your choice, without getting your face carved up.
If this fellow intended to send a message of fear, it will backfire once all of America hears about it. They can't scream racism on this one.
