As NewsBusters has been reporting since we were at the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich has been a strongly outspoken critic of how the mainstream media have covered Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin since she was first announced as John McCain's runningmate.
On Wednesday, appearing on Fox News's "On the Record," Gingrich called recent press reports involving the Republican vice presidential candidate "factually wrong, intellectually dishonest, totally biased, worthy of the Polish state news media attacking Lech Walesa back in the 1980s."
Moments later, he put an exclamation point on his criticism: "This is like watching Pravda. This is a one-sided, vicious, unending and dishonest campaign."

Right on the money, Newt!!! Pravda indeed! And he’s talking Prava in the OLD Soviet days, before things opened up a bit over there in Russia.
Newt is right, but Americans have no experience with totalitarian propaganda machines. We’re walking right into it voluntarily, like we had walked into teaching falsified history lessons in schools. The Poles had an excuse, they were under the guns, what’s outr excuse?
Good for Newt and also for Greta for going after this stuff the past few weeks.
Bernie Goldberg, the CBS former correspondent who has written about the bias in the media, has always said that the main reason the press is so biased is because they all live in this “bubble” of liberalness and just don’t know any conservatives. This year, though, it is obvious that these media types know EXACTLY what they are doing. They purposely misquote a source to set Palin up; she doesn’t fall for it, but they try their best to make her slip up. Meanwhile, Biden is thrown softballs and he is still a constant gaffe. I’m hoping that the press, who is hated by most Americans, have over-shot themselves, but the polls are too close. As much as I don’t want Obama for obvious reasons, I would also just love to show the press that they don’t control us when McCain gets in (and so I do hope)
yep. right on the money.
Actually, that’s unfair to Pravda, at least as it’s been post-1992.
I blame the government schools and the unionist faculties that have been indocrinating our children in fundamental liberalism for 35 years. We have finally reached the tipping point and those people who were “educated” in that system since the NEA became a labor union are now the majority of the electorate.
Bingo.
Word.
