''I don't know if you saw this, but vice presidential candidate Governor Sarah Palin says that she's in favor of a Federal ban on gay marriage. Basically, she wants to change the Constitution. So, if you're wondering -- I'm sure you are -- how I feel about this, I don't like it. I don't like it. I don't agree.... And maybe it's because I'm gay that I think we should all be equal, but, um, I feel that we're all equal. And I don't know what people are scared of. You know, maybe they think that their children will be influenced. And I gotta say, I was raised by two heterosexuals, I was surrounded by heterosexuals -- just everywhere I looked: heterosexuals. And they did not influen -- I mean, I dabbled in high school, who didn't? ... People are gonna be who they're gonna be, and we need to learn to love them for who they are and let them love who they want to love.''

Talk show host Ellen Degeneres on the set of her TV program speaking about Sarah Palin's public admission on the 700 Club that she wishes to have a Federal ban on gay marriage but then immediately expressed that she wasn't going to sit in judgment of anyone. Degeneres, of course, famously married her long-time girlfriend, Portia de Rossi, earlier this year when California's Supreme Court concluded that same-sex marriages be made legal on the grounds that it is a civil rights issue. Ellen may be able to slap her girlfriend around, but I think Caribou Barbie could kick her behind.

Any freepers, who keep their American Express Cards after this should get slapped around by this degenerate deviate, Degeneres.

Ellen and her girlfriend have the right to live as they wish but they have no right to redefine the meaning of marriage for the rest of society.

I saw the movie `Mr. Wrong’ offered the other night on one of the commercial-
free channels. I was tempted to watch it just to see Ellen trying to play it straight.

When was it that everyone started thinking everything was about equality? State-sanctioned marriage is most certainly not about equality. It’s a class perogative. In granting special status to married people, the state is saying they are “more equal” than single people. If Ellen really cared about absolute equality, she’d be on the ramparts fighting against granting special status to straight and gay couples.

I forget who said this, but it’s kinda funny.

“Gay people should have the right to be as miserable as the rest of us.”

People are gonna be who they're gonna be, and we need to learn to love them for who they are and let them love who they want to love.

Pederasty. Beastiality. Auto-asphixation. Are we supposed to accept these too, because someone attributes the characteristics of "love" to them as well?

As I have often posted, I have a relative who is a recovering alcoholic. Every day, he has to make the decision: Does he do what "feels right" to his body, and damn the consequences to those around him whom he loves, or does he do what God says is right, excercise self-restraint, and go on with his life. Some evidence suggests that there may be a genetic componant to the craving of alcohol. Do we then turn to all the alcoholics in America and say, "Hey, God made you perfect to be who you are! You can't help it, embrace it! Here, let me buy you a Scotch"?

You can't evade a sin and its consquences by renaming it a "lifechoice".

Marriage is a contract.

Government has some role in the enforcement of contracts.

I don’t see a problem with this, except that the government has over-stepped it’s bounds, as usual.

Get the government out of the marriage business. They don’t belong there.

A bull can marry a sheep for all I care.

But, contracts should be enforced.

I try not to be influenced by celebrity endorsements, one way or the other. I seek to find products that solve my needs, and whatever the company I purchase from chooses to waste its money on, it’s their business.

Was that before or after her long term relationship with hetereo-turned-homo turned-back-to-hetreo sexual Anne Heche?

Marriage is a contract.

And society has a real interest in regulating, through government, maternity and paternity. Given that all human reproduction occurs through heterosexual activity of one kind or another, homosexuality has abolutely no relevance when it comes to the civil institution of marriage.

Ellen, as a ‘gay’ person, you need to know that you are one of a distinct genetic minority in your generation. As Aldous Huxley observed long ago, you are abnormal in your generation, but your generation would be abnormal without you. Stop trying to pretend that you are normal, and stop trying to convince the rest of us that you are just like us — you are not. As to your rights as a citizen of the USA, this country has done more for those rights than any other country in the history of the world. It might be time for you and yours to say, thank you, America.
