In an election for President of the United States in Pennsylvania today, 10/23/08, twelve days until votes are counted, the contest tightens, but Democrat Barack Obama still defeats Republican John McCain 53% to 41%, according to a SurveyUSA poll conducted for WCAU-TV Philadelphia, KDKA-TV Pittsburgh, WNEP-TV Scranton, WHTM-TV Harrisburg, and WJAC-TV Johnstown. Compared to a SurveyUSA poll 9 days ago, McCain is up 1, Obama is down 2. There is movement to McCain among white voters, where McCain had been down 7, today is down 3.

Which makes me wonder if it wouldn't be smarter for McCain to camp out and spend his ad money in Virginia and Colorado than in Pennsylvania. He doesn't have to win PA if he can hold serve in Colorado and Virginia, which are traditionally Republican states. PA hasn't voted Republican in 20 years, and I kind of doubt they will do so in a year that has seen a huge increase in Democratic registrations.
Bogus.
Otherwise, why does Obama needs to spend any more time in a state that he has won?
This survey USA, please!!
The race is not exactly tightening in this poll. Why the headline? Looks like a landslide unless the sampling is completely warped.
Pole sample (+9 Dem)
Dem 52 (+11)
GOP 41 (+2)
Ind 06
CNN 2004 PA
Dem 41
GOP 39
Ind 20
SUSA must quit calling the High School kids with cell phones too young to vote... LOL
Is Survey USA biased? None of the other PA polls on RCP look any better, including Rasmussen and Strategic Vision, a Republican pollster.
It’s Bull.
This poll shows Obama has a 12 point lead among men. I don’t think so, unless these guys only polled in Philly.
I’m calling bullcrap on philly.com. According to CNN, the PA Dem/GOP/Ind breakdown for Bush vs Kerry in 2004 was 41/39/20.
I can’t see how this will change dramatically. Obama’s turnout gains among black Dems will be offset by blue collar crossovers.
Why don’t you quit your job and become a campaign strategist?
“The race is not exactly tightening in this poll. Why the headline?”
Obama lost two, McCain gained one. That’s what the story talked about.
Time to pour everything into holding CO and VA and maybe NC, and forget about flipping blue states. It's a noble goal, but it isn't going to happen in the time we have left.
Why did Rendell ask Obama to come back ?
Naturally, being afraid their machine might tell some human I was racist, I told them I was an independent and intended to vote for Barry.
“Why dont you quit your job and become a campaign strategist?”
Why don’t I just turn off my brain and show blind faith in the guy that brought us McCain-Feingold, Kennedy-McCain, gang of 14, etc? Because John McCain has shown the ability to make wrong decisions in the past, and I think emphasizing Pennsylvania while reducing his ad buys in Colorado, which has always voted Republican and is a 5-point contest according to even biased polls, is a mistake.
For real?

All conservatives should do this whenever the opportunity is presented.
Oh no, all is lost
