I believe you. Two of my close friends are liberals, and otherwise they're great people. They just lose their ability to think rationally when it comes to politics.

I have the same problem; but at least the dyed in the wool Dem friends in question live at opposite end of the country from me, so e-mail is our only contact these days. We have cut back on the amount of mail and agreed to avoid the entire subject when we DO write.
Both friends do “know” the dangers of Obama and his associates and socialism, etc., but CHOOSE to ignore it. As for me, I am turning myself into a John Galt.............
