Palin Supports McCain’s Plan for Amnesty for ILLEGALS

Palin addresses issues on television interview

Republican Vice Presidential candidate and Alaska governor Sarah Palin addressed issues yesterday relating to Latin America, including Hugo Chavez and illegal immigration, in her first interview with a Spanish-language network. The interview began with Univision anchor, Jorge Ramos asking Palin to clarify recent statements she and Republican Presidential candidate John McCain have made, characterising Senator Barack Obama’s tax proposals as “socialist”. Palin denied ever having called Obama a socialist directly.

The interview quickly turned to US nemesis, leftist Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, who has repeatedly claimed the US is planning to attack Venezuela. However, Palin said military action was a last resort. “We hate war. We want peace. “We want through negotiation and sanctions if need be to put pressure on a dictator like Hugo Chavez, to let them see that they will not mess around with America the way that they want to,” she said.

The governor also addressed illegal immigration, saying she and McCain supported a two-pronged approach of securing the border and then working with undocumented workers already in the US.

“There is no way that in the US we would roundup every illegal immigrant - there are about 12 million of the illegal immigrants.

“We - our policy - John McCain has been so clear with his policy and it makes a lot of sense too.

“We secure our borders first. But then with a comprehensive approach we must deal humanely with those who are here, and we must allow the steps to be taken to protect the families of those who are here, maybe as illegal immigrants today,” she said.

McCain has made an effort to reach out to Latino voters, a constituency that could prove key in swing states in November’s election. Latino support for the Republican Party ebbed earlier this year following a bruising battle over illegal immigration. - Reuters

So doing it your way (or Duncan’s way) would deport every single illegal alien, & punish companies who hire them. Exactly how do you (or does he) plan to pay for this? The cost to execute this plan would be astronomical. It would likely triple (or more) the size of the INS — and require another level of government just to carry it out.

So your way means even bigger govt. No thanks.

I’d crawl over broken glass — and the immigration issue doesn’t enter the picture at all. It’s all about stopping The One.

But after McCain/Palin give amnesty (no matter what they call it), Obama-types will be all we'll get when the new 'citizens' can vote.

If we did round up all the illegals and send them back to Mexico, what would be the impact on the mortgages they all hold in the American banking system? I’m assuming that not ALL of them have defaulted yet.

Not all, but they will. Something like 60% of the subprime loans went to illegals out here. When they readjust, they'll just walk away. Without all the repercussions a citizen that walks away has to deal with for years to come.

Take it easy, as there will be NO amnesty. Can’t you guys see they pandering to the Hispanic vote.

I honestly can't believe this, as much as I want to. Since McCain was the cosponsor of the bill that granted every single illegal here - felon or not - amnesty, along with every single family member they still had in Mexico - I can't believe he's just pandering for votes. He went out of his way to push McCain-Kennedy and obviously believes wholeheartedly in it. During the primaries, he said he would vote for it again.

One more post, them I’m outta here to go to work:

Pro-life versus pro infanticide? Okay, here goes. The GOP couldn’t care less about abortion. It’s their little con game to get Christian people to vote for them. Just like Lucy holds the football and tells Charlie Brown, “This time, I promise I won’t pull it away. I’ll let you kick it.” The GOP had control of the House, Senate and Presidency just recently and they just couldn’t seem to get around to doing anything meaningful about abortion. It’s just their way of keeping the Christian vote, always promising that “someday” they’ll do something about it. Same with The Marriage Amendment. The GOP couldn’t care less about who is married to who. It’s just a ploy to keep the Christians turning out at the polls. Again, the GOP had control of the House, Senate and Presidency recently. How much effort did they expend on the Marriage Amendment? None.

Here’s a question for you: I’ll be gone for a while, but I’ll look in later on tonight and see what your answer is. Are you prolife? If you are, how do you feel about Welfare?

Again, maybe, maybe not, but the genie isn’t going back in the bottle. It’s fantasy to think otherwise.

We can't put the genie back in the bottle, but we can sure as hell keep millions of genies from becoming citizens who can and will vote for Democrats.

Unfortunately, both McCain and Obama support amnesty, so in the long term we are finished. Either one will have a Democrat Congress, which means that they will get amnesty pushed through.

At that point, bickering over whether to vote Republican, stay home, or vote third party will be useless, since you'll have millions of new Democrats added to the rolls.

Why does it bother you so much that I refuse to compromise what I believe is right to go along and get along? My vote and my principles are my own and I won’t compromise them because Freepers think I should. I see no real difference between McCain and Obama on amnesty. I consider that to be the biggest danger to America today. When amnesty happens, and all these illegals are coming out of the shadows and become citizens, and their families are allowed to come here and become citizens, what chance do you think that a conservative will ever be elected again in this country? America will be a great big hog trough for the whole 3rd world. Both McCain and Obama are bound and determined to see that happen. I refuse to vote for my own destruction - whether it comes at the hands of a Republican or a Democrat.

Well stated, EagleMama. I was having some hope about McAmnesty and now I am sad at our demise as a country all over again.

Maybe McCain/Palin will listen to some of the solutions offered by Gov. Blount in Missouri and some of the success they are having in reducing illegals.

But with Obama, there will be no such conversation.

We must stop Obama.

You have a good point, we would need more government to get rid of the illegal aliens.

However, if we don't get rid of them, and instead make them citizens, the Democrats will become the permanent party in power, which also means even bigger government.

While I'm big time anti-illegal immigration I'm voting as much to stop Hussein Obama as anything. I'll fight the immigration bill nonsense after he's stopped.

Hussein and his army of leftist crooks and thugs is a greater long term threat to this country than anything the Islamists can come up with. Keeping him out of the Presidency is priority 1!

Also it's not a given that conservatives will have to move to the left to cater to Hispanic voters. How about we convince them to come to conservatism through the marketplace of ideas instead of conservatism coming to them?

You must not know very many illegals. They are at the entitlement trough and will not budge. Most do not even want to be citizens, but want to take from us while idolizing Mexico and raising their kids to speak Spanish only and hate America.

Whereever you live, I want to move there. You must be quite distant from the 3rd world cesspool illegals create.

DEAR PUMA, YOU SAID,

PUMAS are fighting our asses off to keep Obama out of the White House and while I don’t agree with every single thing McCain/Palin stand for I stand with them on the important issues and I sure as hell don’t want an Obama presidency. So take this message back to the Freepers - shut up and vote for McCain!!! You are never going to agree with everything one politician stands for or believes in.

AND I SAY,

HEAR, HEAR!

[Sadly, it does bring to mind the old saying that you get to choose between the fast boat to hell and the slow boat to hell.]

PUMAs aren’t exactly on the list of those with principles and values. They’re just mad Hillary didn’t win - or they’d be on the Dem’s side. And they can’t understand anyone that sticks to what they believe. So them telling us what to do is quite ironic.
