Bill Ayers was just engaging in “rhetorical flourishes” when he said they “didn’t do enough” and that we was a Communst and anarchist, right?

The definition of flourishes is: "an ornamental embellishment."
rhetorical ... solely to produce an effect.

The embellished, ornamental effects would include mindless, sychophantic dreck from writers, swooning from feign(t)ing followers, obfuscatory language for obvious lies, dangled earmark whisperings for delivering votes from Mickey Mouse, dead people, ten votes or more from one person, etc.

That’s what Obama says. Joe, however, was clear as a bell. He spoke definitively, more than just a one-liner by far, and on 2 occasions said the same thing. Hardly a misspeak.

Please don’t turn this thread into an excuse on Joe’s part — that he doesn’t know what he is talking about.

This is too serious to dismiss.

Rhetorical flourishes is one of my favorite catch phrases.

It means, BS! Obama and Biden are two masters of BS.

I've even used it to describe you on occasion, Ms. Zito. ;^)

Actually, as someone who considers herself a writer of sorts, the term “rhetorical flourish” to describe Biden’s recent revelation of an ominous future for the newly elected Barack OBama is quite clever.

Obama is a damn good speaker. In fact he’s way better than any Republican charged with conversing with the public since...well only Newt Gingrich was as good. Not Dubya....nope, nope. Not Bob Dole....nah. McCain....nope. Bush Sr? Nope. The pubbies would own the planet if they’d get a decent public speaker out leading the world. Or maybe no one told the pubs that public speaking skills are a major part of being a good politician?

But hell yeah...rhetorical flourishes....good term. Means that Biden kind of expanded on the scenario he laid out. Gives OBama a way to back out by saying this mythical test of his military grit applies to ALL newly elected presidents. By a “rhethorical flourish” Biden developed the scene up to the Obama presidency or so Barack claims.

Obama is a good speaker and by me, he’s no dummy. His vocabulary is top notch. You don’t get a good vocabulary unless you read a lot.

Which is not to say he’s not a zero. Cause he is.

But he is certainly not stupid.

It IS serious as a heart attack. Joe needs to be called to account to explain EXACTLY what he meant by his CRYPTIC mutterings about just what they are going to do that everyone will be doubting they are “right” about what they’re going to do. WHAT ARE THEY PLANNING TO DO? We deserve to know ahead of time.

Actually, the only time I've heard that word (other than some old Shakespeare movie) is over in gay Palm Sproings.....using terms like "flourishes" and "absolutely divine" means you're ready to take it in the bung.

Code words are code words, after all.

I am SERIOUSLY concerned with Biden being a step away from the presidency!!

I do believe he has brain damage. He’s had an aneurism, hasn’t he?

Did you see the video of him in Florida today, where he slid into ebonics? He hit the "dropdown menu", regarding vocabulary, to fit the audience.
