Suspect Raul Nuñez, 32 - who sneaked back into the United State after he was deported to his native Dominican Republic in 2001 for a 1997 drug conviction - was at Bellevue Hospital with gunshot wounds to the legs and torso. He faces attempted-murder charges.

Sounds like four hits, that stopped the perp. Many time survival depends on a fraction of an inch, that is impossible to gage. Many years ago an officer in my home town put three .38 specials in an assailants chest, it had turned into hand to hand combat by that time. The officer and assailant survived. Sometimes people are just very hard to kill.

Because of phonies like Al Sharpton who jump on the police every chance they get, the cops are probably less aggressive in how they handle these situations. They were probably more concerned about the people in the crowd with cellphone cameras than in watching this POS more carefully.

So true. What about the days of leaving our doors unlocked, or at least open to let in the fresh air? My front door is now ALWAYS locked. If I’m home, I will open a window, but ONLY if I’m spending most of my time in that room.
