How does thi compute with being down 10 nationally or 8 or 6 for that matter. Makes no sense. Very tight here in FL and Obama blew his wad (money) and he loses ground in the past two weeks. Very interesting. Also to note, McCain down only two in VA in Mason-Dixon - a few more rallies there at the end should put that state away.

Cmon Zogby!! McCain has opened up small leads in Ohio and Florida, during the same time Obama has opened up a 10 point lead nationally?

Give me a break.

Gee, is it possible that there is actually a poll that has not oversampled and overweighted Democrat and minority “registered” voters?!

It can’t compute to National Polls. If Bambi is really that far ahead in the National Polls there is no way McCain wins Florida or Ohio for that Matter

If those poll numbers are good, I think McCain/Palin have both those states in the bag. In 2004, both those states were “toss-ups” in the polls and Bush won VA by 9 and FL by 5.

I strongly feel Florida is ours, and always has been.

I don’t think Mason-Dixon polls nationally. If they did, who knows, they might have McCain down only 3 like GWU Battleground.

One possibility: Obama is winning big in blue states, McCain is winning small in red ones, and McCain is clawing it out in battleground states like Florida and Ohio.

It is still a poll and I don’t trust polls but at least I will pay attention to Mason Dixon. These guys are truly unbiased.

I know things are tightening in VA. I’ve seen it on the ground. All the red is becoming bright red with the prospect of an Obama presidency.

with the weighted Democrats 278 (44%) Republicans 235 (38%) Independents 112 (18%)

In the key Tampa Bay region, McCain now has a 47%-44% lead, reversing Obama’s 48%-44% advantage from early October. The other regions of the state continue to follow their historical patterns, with Obama holding a wide 58%-32% lead in Southeast Florida and McCain running ahead in North Florida (56%-35%), Central Florida (53%-39%) and Southwest Florida (54%-38%).

As a Floridian, I have NEVER EVER seen more TV ads for ONE candidate, than I have with Obama. Seriously, it seems like 25% of TV Commercials are for Obama. I have seen exactly ONE add for McCain. To say that Obama is spending money in Florida is a gross understatement.

As I sat watching some TV with some young Obama voters (undecideds who lean heavily for Obama, but who might not even vote), they were turned off by all the adds. Could this be a backlash of sorts?

Woo Hoo! I will do my phone banking with renewed gusto here in Ft Lauderdale. It will be so nice to give this good news to the elderly McPalin supporters who are disheartened by what they hear from MSM!

Karl Rove said he always watched Battleground for national trends and Mason Dixon for State trends. Probably good advice.

McCain is ahead in many states, where the MSM has him losing, they fix the polls and promote him all day long!

I will here re-post my much-posted Poll Thingy:

The usually-media-commissioned polls are conducted with the aim of extracting the very last dollar out of BOTH campaigns. Political advertising is different from the run-of-the-mill because it must be PAID UP FRONT, so it’s always in the media’s best interest to make things look bad for one side, so that side buys more ads, then make it look awful for the other, so they increase their ad buys. This is the paid-in-advance SUPER BOWL for TV and radio stations all over the country, and they will fight until the BITTER END to make sure the outcome is in doubt, even when it isn’t.

This polling stuff is ALL about the bucks for national and local media. They manipulate it to wring ALL the up-front dollars they can get out of it.

Then, when the media companies have gotten THE VERY LAST NICKEL OUT OF THIS PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION, the pollsters will start doing polls that reflect reality, so they can maintain their reputations for “accuracy.”

It’s ALL about money for a media that’s bleeding cash by the minute.

Four years ago there were some FReepers who pointed out that Zogby had a “special sauce” that he used in his polls.
