One Nation under God, indivisible …'?
World Net Daily ^ | 10/22/2008 | Joseph Farrah

Posted on 10/22/2008 9:25:20 AM PDT by Jack Black

I've lived through some turbulent years of American history, but I have never seen our country more polarized, more divided, more ripe for – dare I say it? – breakup, dissolution, a secessionist movement. I admit I'm unafraid of radical ideas – if those radical ideas are just, righteous, moral and godly. I believe it's time for radical ideas – just as it was time in 1776. Frankly, I don't see a way to unite a people as divided as Americans are today. We are trying to pretend we're one nation when we are really two. One of those two nations clings to the promises and covenants of the past, the Bible, the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, as the guiding principles. The other believes in and lives with no immutable standards. It's not a Republican vs. Democrat split – as the current election illustrates. I know many Republicans would find themselves more comfortable in the country of no standards. I also suspect many Democrats would actually find themselves more at home in the nation of the Bible, Declaration and Constitution. Isn't it time for separation? Is the breakup of the union really such a difficult thing to consider?

Isn't it time for separation? Is the breakup of the union really such a difficult thing to consider? When there are no new lands to discover, what choice do we have?

....

There's only one way to recapture the greatness of America. That is to start over – with only those willing to play by the rules. Let those who don't believe in rules have their own country to destroy.

This is one of the few explicit calls for division of the country I've read. I would not call Farrah exactly mainstream, but he certainly is a cut above the average blogger in terms of visibility.

I’ll drink to that. Dr. Walter Williams suggested that in 2000, a peaceful split. The alternative is something out of Thomas Chittum’s “Civil War II” or something you you read on John Titor.

The divisions that can not be bridged are moral. No more than you can expect or should expect the devil to accept Christ as his Lord and Saviour.

He sure makes a lot of sense.

Barring God actually changing the other sides minds and hearts, there will be no reconciling our set of beliefs and theirs.

And finding a set of laws that fairly governs two such disparate groups of people is impossible.

No longer! We’re completely divided and I doubt we’ll ever be able to put it back together. We’re headed for some kind of seperation...which will be ok with me.

There will not be a division of the country there will be something much worse than a polite split when the reset button is pushed on America. The left been hammering that button God help them if they succeed because we will not go silently into the night.

“We are trying to pretend we’re one nation when we are really two.”

Truer words were never spoken. The great omission in our Constitution is that it does not describe a way that states can expel other states from the Union. Had MA been dumped long ago, it may have served as a warning to others that adopting Socialism is anti-American.

Operation: Texodus.

A mass migration of conservatives to Texas, replace Rick Perry with Ted Nugent and secede.

I’m serious. Hang together or hang separately. The U.S. is turning a corner into a really ugly place.

“If all else fails, I will retreat up the valley of Virginia, plant my flag on the Blue Ridge, rally around the Scotch-Irish of that region, and make my last stand for liberty amongst a people who will never submit to British tyranny whilst there is a man left to draw a trigger.”

George Washington, at Valley Forge.

The names of changed but the threat to our freedom is just as real today. I would say more so.

CWII ping. Secession might actually be a way to AVOID a CWII scenario. We just agree to go our seperate ways.

I really don't want to be united with New York, for instance. The land of Schumer, Clinton, Wall Street bandits, the evil Federal Reserve Bank, Goldman-Sachs and JP Morgan and their band of thieves like Paulson, Ruben and Corizine. The NY Media elites with their endless liberal spin - Olberman, etc.

Anyway, we might need a new flag for the Red States. How about an old one:

I think we do need to practice triage where there are some areas that cannot be saved, other areas solidly with us, and some in between that with some work, can be saved. The areas that cannot be saved are the hard core Blue areas, let the libs have those, we take the rest and go about our ways. Then if and when they blow themselves up, we will have to go in and fix things. In that case, we need to be like Ben Raines in “Out of Ashes” and set up ground rules for admission back in the union.

I truly believe secession (hopefully peaceful) would be better than being under a BHO regime.

With the bomb plots and thugary from the left, the civil war is already here. But like the WOT, every community is treating it as mere vandalism and not a national conspiracy to intimidate Republican voters.

I have no problem with “breakup, dissolution, a secessionist movement.” Obama and Biden are telegraphing what they will do. I took Biden’s cryptic ramblings the other day as a signal to Americans that they will hasten “change” to a full-fledged socialist system. Powell didn’t use the word “transformational” for nothing.

Had the Supreme Court gone 5-4 the other way in the Heller decision, a true secessionist movement might already be underway.

I’ve thought for years that this is not one or two countries, but as many as five. The splits are ideological, cultural, religious, economic and geographic. I first came to this realization at the time of the Oklahoma City bombing. While I was aghast at the barbarism of the bombing, I didn’t immediately feel it was an “American” bombing - I’d never been to Oklahoma City, don’t know anybody from Oklahoma City and know very little about the city or state. It may as well have been in France, for as much as it registered beyond the human impact.

And I don’t say that with any disrespect intended at all to that part of the country or its residents. I suspect that if a major catastrophe happened in Baltimore tomorrow, there are a fair amount of people in the U.S. who wouldn’t even know where Baltimore *is* and wouldn’t have the same feelings as somebody living in the mid-Atlantic would.

While I know that it’s completely unrealistic, I think the U.S. should be divided into five geographically separate countries - northeast, southeast, midwest, south and west. I think that everybody would feel much more comfortable and it would help ease some of the tensions we all feel. I don’t think these entities would for a minute have to be enemies - I’d certainly encourage free trade, free travel between the entities, etc., but have a capital in each of the five in order for people to feel better represented and closer to their government than they currently do.

This is what is so laughable about Obama sayng he can bring us together. After the last eight year of liberal behavior and the nasty things they say they think somehow that everything will be ok after Nov 4th? I don’t think so! They have caused this divide and they have a fantasty about fixing it while they throw insults about racists, rednecks, and rubes? I say wall the big cities in and let them survive on their own

Give the east coast and the West coast to liberals and un-family, un-traditional group of people.

Rest is the America we can live in in peace!
