With two weeks to go until Election Day, the exceptionally volatile and closely watched U.S. Senate race in Minnesota has tightened up.
The latest Star Tribune Minnesota Poll shows DFLer Al Franken at 39 percent to Republican Sen. Norm Coleman's 36 percent. Independence Party candidate Dean Barkley was the choice of 18 percent of likely voters.

Ugh. Is MN really going to foist Al Franken on us? They already dropped 9-11 conspiracy theorist Jesse "the mind" Ventura on our heads. Isn't that enough. Please, someone from MN please tell me Coleman is going to pull this election out.

Never underestimate the idiocy of socialists. They think that voting for them will be utopia.

I’m hoping that this is a flawed poll. Bad enough having Obama, but if this clown gets elected someone needs to question Minnesotans sanity.

Star Tribune. No reason to read any further.

again....we have a third party electing or possibly electing a creep....similar to Ventura...Ventura didn't pull in a majority ..he simply pulled in more than the others...he got somewhere in the 30% range...those voting against him were the vast majority...
hey....people in Minn.....you are stupid...you deserve whatever you get...
maybe there's a way to drop out of our culture....if only I could get my money out of my 401k...

FWIW, the Minneapolis (Red) Star has a history of misrepresenting their polls to help the DFL (democrat-farmer-labor) party. There are admitted examples as early as 1978.

Got an idea. Let's go to Canada, trade MN for Alberta. That is, if Alberta is willing to have us, if BO gets in, I wouldn't blame the Albertans for rejecting us.

IF Minnesotans elect the TAX CHEATING PORNOGRAPHER as their Senator they deserve him. The Liberal electorate is blinded this election and will they put anyone with a "D" after their name into office. It will backfire beyond their wildest dreams - a new Reagan will be swept into office with large R majorities in 2012. Probably a huge majority in both Senate and House will occur in 2010 after two years of Lord Barack Øbama, the Most Merciful and his mafia in Congress.
I sincerely hope the pollsters will be 100% wrong and they all go bankrupt based on their biases in their polls - I am wishing for the same death knell to strike the pollsters as is stiking DNC Media (DBMedia).
As Hannity says, journalism died in 2008 - there can be no question about the DBMedia being in the tank for DEMS.

I would be embarrassed to vote for Franken...except that it appears that the Dems have decided that a win is more important than trashing their own candidate.
Gee.....how unique....Republicans are too good for WINNING it seems.

Seriously if MN elects Franken it deserves what it will get - all of the families who have a loved one serving in the military should leave. Time to take up your guns and prepare - this is extremely consistant with the constitution and what the founding fathers had feared.

It’s true that the Star Trib has a notoriously bad history of bias for the RATS. That said, this Barkley guy is siphoning votes disproportionately from Coleman and not from Franken, and the DFLers are having a good laugh.
I expect NRSC ads to feature “If you waste your vote on Barkley, this is what you’ll get...”

The Independent candidate should withdraw and throw support to Coleman if he really cares about the people of MN
