She won this race by 8 pts in 2006 against a better known and financied Democrat. The last poll I saw put her up 8 pts again, and that was last week. Is there anything suggesting she is in real trouble except the drive-bys constantly saying that she is? I wouldn’t necessarily trust the HuffPo, MSNBC, or the MN Star-Tribune to be honest brokers here.
Exit question: How many of the 8% that gave Michele her margin of victory in 2006 (a bad year for Republicans) would suddenly flip to the Dem because of this statement? My sense is that most Republicans agree with that statement - I do. Since she won in 2006, that means that most of her voters were conservatives - many independents and moderates went for the Ds. Most of Bachmann’s support is solid, not wishy-washy limp-wristed moderates and flakes.
