In a word, no, what we are seeing is an attempt at a political coup by Obama, ACORN and the MSM. He’s not just your typical lefty scum like Clinton, he’s something far more sinister.
If the Pravda press pulls off an Obama victory, there will be no one left in the justice departments or courts to prevent any more free elections.

And not just America. We can kiss international relations and structures as we know them goodbye, as well. The US has been the biggest, most capable voice for freedom around the world and Americans are about to vote for a retreat from that position, favoring a "soft power" model which will do nothing but reward and kowtow to the worst regimes.
This week, the snob vowed to change the world. I'm certain that he will. What do I foresee? Goodbye, Iraq. Taiwan? Nice to have had you around. Africa? All signs are that this could be your century to grow; the snob will discard that horridly militaristic AFRICOM idea and cede you to China. Afghanistan and India? Ooops, sorry the snob fouled up Pakistan so bad and their nuked-up crazies are spilling over. Japan and Australia: You're on your own, friends, with Obama in power! Brazil, Colombia, El Salvador: the new Messiah says, "Screw you." Oh, and Poland, Czech Republic, Romania, Bulgaria, Albania, etc: you will pay for your alliegance just like those Latin upstarts that refuse to kiss Hugo Chavez's fat ass - take the advice I gave to Georgia and take Russian aggression up the rear without a fight.

You're most welcome in Alaska - but the Dems and the unions in Alaska are making a fight to win this election round, state-wide and nationally. That's why Stevens and Young - Palin, too - have been targeted. The charges have either been manufactured or pale to insignificance against the ethical lapses for which Democrats go unpunished.

I heard somebody say that Rush might broadcast from the Bahamas if the Fairness Doctrine was instituted.
I don't think that would make any difference at all. The Fairness Doctrine doesn't prevent anyone from broadcasting, but it does require "equal time". Rush could broadcast from the moon, but if a station picks it up and airs it, then the Fairness Doctrine comrades will demand they provide equal air time or lose their license.

Obama would make the New Deal and the Great Society look tame by comparison. We might as well join the EU (eeew!)

I agree he will **** things up bad.
But if conservatives were REALLY in charge nothing is unfixable.

I am not worried about being able to repair the socialist damages that could be done by this cult leader. I am worried about ever getting the opportunity to repair the damages. I believe that this may well be a trap door election. Once Obama is in, Obama, Pelosi and Reed will “fix” things so that they stay in....much like Hugo Chavez.

Its been 30 years and we still haven’t undone the damage Carter did. If anyone wonders, just think about Iran.

I have been arguing this for a long time. Those who think that an Obama presidency would lead the way to a second Reagan Revolution are hopelessly naive. Obama is going to destroy America as we know it. True, but they have their principles you know.

Australia has turned Left. Of course, check it out for yourself but I'd check it off the list.
Your post is interesting, though.

“Australia is very liberal and their press hates us. Were thinking New Zealand. We also considered Alaska. How about a bunch of us Freepers move to a small community somewhere and at least make our piece of the land a livable one?”
New Zealand makes Australia seem like the John Birch Society. New Zealand is a bigger, more socialist, Vermont.

All of this is true. There is just one problem, we can no longer afford what we now get from the government, so adding a pile of new entitlements just hastens the crash. At some point foreign investors will just stop lending us $$$. With $50+ trillion of unfunded liabilities now facing us, adding trillions more makes no sense.
That does not solve the problem, however. It just makes the necessary effort that is required to fix it much more painful. In the end we will go bankrupt, it is just a matter of how we restructure.

Normally I would agree like what happened in 1994 but the plans they have we may have a hard time winning elections from this point on.
