The news agency that claimed Michelle Obama called to protest its coverage of WND stories about her husband has published an "open letter" to the potential first lady, suggesting she "confirm that we had a talk because it is the only right thing to do now."
The statement from Norway-based African Press International , however, simply heightened the doubts readers have expressed over whether the tape exists and whether the reported conversation ever happened.
Among the newest opinions about API:
"A wonderful lesson in Scamming 101."
"Just what is happening?"
"Stop this now. Produce the tapes or shut up."
Either play the tapes unedited or stop this hoax." API's "open letter" said its goal was to "avoid any embarrassment should the whole tape be aired unedited."

Maybe the check they were waiting for has gone missing. Shakedown?
I knew they were bluffing.
It seems that Corsi-itis is very contagious these days....just ask Andy Martin.
Has Philip Berg said anything about this yet?
API already gave her several days to comment on the alleged call. Unless the alleged audio recording is released immediately this story must be assumed to be a hoax.
It will be interesting to see how the Obama campaign lists the payment in its FEC report. Advance work?
You know, I flew to Oslo just to be here at 16:00 when the API said the audio tapes would be released. Sign me — miserable and waiting and cold in Oslo Norway.
Someone posted earlier (on another thread) that they thought this was nothing but a diversionary tactic to keep people occupied with an imaginary prize, and overlook things that really do threaten Obama's coronation.
Another "only in America!" moment. Or something. ;^)
API, 5h!7 or get off the pot! I’m very tired of their foolin’ around.
Until they really release the allegedly exist tape, like they promised to do so in 24 hrs, I don’t think we need to pay attention to them.
I’m actually starting to think this may be real, and that API is stalling over releasing the tape because they’re being threatened and because they’re sensing they’re in over their heads.
As far as I know, Michelle has not issued a statement denying she made such a call. Maybe she did issue such a statement and I missed it??? If not, I’m having trouble figuring out why she wouldn’t just issue a curt one or two sentence statement denying she made any call to API. The only reason I can think of that she wouldn’t do that, is if she’s afraid they’ll respond with proof that she did.
For what its worth:

I asked Philip Berg, via e-mail, whether or not he thought the API/Michelle Obama tapes were real and whether they would in fact be released within the next day or so as Chief Editor Korir maintains. His answer was simple, and firm.
“Yes,” Berg wrote.
I will say that there is more to this that I simply cannot report. Still, keep checking here for updates. In the meantime, keep your fingers crossed, and know that I am doing the same.
Sounds like a “snipe hunt” to me.
