The Roswell Daily Record has endorsed Republican John McCain for president, citing his leadership ability, experience and character as traits that are needed during a difficult time for the United States.
The endorsement was published Sunday, the same day GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin campaigned in Roswell.
The newspaper said theres no denying America is in a state of turmoil on many fronts. It said Democrat Barack Obama has capitalized on the growing realization that this great nation is heading in the wrong direction.
Yet while Obama has promised a new direction, the Daily Record said McCain can deliver it.

Notice that Obama is getting the big, urban, left-wing papers and that McCain is getting the ones that "Joe the Plumber" types usually read?
