Obama Campaign Withdraws From Two Jewish Debates
The Republican Jewish Coalition ^ | October 16, 2008 | Suzanne Kurtz

The Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) Executive Director Matt Brooks issued the following statement today: Now that the Presidential debates are over, the Obama campaign is trying to cancel all remaining debates in the Jewish community that include the Republican Jewish Coalition.

Claiming they do not like recent RJC advertisements, the Obama campaign has formally instructed all of its representatives to cancel their scheduled appearances with any representative of the RJC. Former Congressman Mel Levine (CA) yesterday informed the Valley Cities Jewish Community Center that he would no longer show up for his scheduled debate this Sunday against RJC California Director Larry Greenfield. State Representative Josh Shapiro (PA) informed Temple Sinai that he would not participate in a forum with RJC Philadelphia Director Scott Feigelstein.

"The RJC is deeply troubled by this effort on the part of the Obama campaign to stifle and limit a debate on the important issues facing our country," said Brooks. "More than anything the Jewish community values dialogue. What is the Obama campaign afraid of? Why is the Obama campaign afraid to have this conversation?"

"With their recently enacted policy of not debating representatives of the RJC, the Obama campaign has underscored Senator Obama's problems in the Jewish community. It is unfortunate that the Obama campaign is unwilling and afraid to have a candid conversation on the issues of great concern to Jewish voters," said Brooks.

"Throughout this campaign, the RJC has highlighted the truth about Obama's positions, his statements and his advisers. Every point raised in our ads is sourced, cited and has previously been reported in the media. We ask legitimate questions about Obama's policies towards Israel, the Middle East and Iran. Our ads have raised legitimate concerns over Obama's associations with Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Zbigniew Brzezinski, Robert Malley, Tony McPeak and David Bonior. If the Obama campaign is unhappy with our ads, then Senator Obama should never have associated with these individuals in the first place," Brooks added.

"Currently, the RJC is scheduled to participate in 29 debates between now and the election. In keeping with the long-standing tradition of Jewish dialogue, we look forward to these opportunities to engage the Jewish community on the critical issues," said Brooks.

They might want to add Powell's statements today about welcoming more Muslims here to America.

McPeak became AF Chief of Staff when Powell was Chairman of the Joint Chiefs. McPeak is the general that carried out Clinton orders to fire anyone in the chain who said anything against Clinton openly.

also included as a reason Obama has backed out were questions raised by the Republican Jewish Coalition stating that Obama had served on a board that donated to a pro-Palestinian organization in Chicago and that Obama has been endorsed by Hamas. Obama people's claim that these are negative and unfair questions, and therefore they will not answer or particpate in any debates on these issues.

I have always supported Israel. The Jews, thanks to their liberal bent, will soon participate in Israel’s elimination, thanks to Obama. Sad.

I subscribe to the Debka.com Newsletter, and just got this on the 16th from the Republican Jewish Coalition:

Many Americans have questions about Barack Obama and his views on Israel. And for good reason. His positions on Israel are reckless.

Most concerning is Barack Obama’s naïve grasp of the threats against the United States and Israel.

From his opposition to legislation against labeling Iran’s Revolutionary Guard a terrorist organization (barackobama.com) to his willingness to meet with Iranian President Ahmadinejad without any preconditions (CNN/YouTube Debate, 7/23/07), Sen. Barack Obama has raised real questions about his judgment and experience.

Sen. Obama told a Jewish group he supports an undivided Jerusalem, only to flip-flop the very next day. (MSNBC.com, 6/6/08) Another time, Obama called his support for an undivided Jerusalem a “poor phrasing” of words. (Jerusalem Post, 7/14/08)

Obama himself has pointed out that “words matter.” And they do, especially to people who care about the future of Israel. And they mattered earlier this year, when Obama stated, “Nobody is suffering more than the Palestinian people.” (Politico.com, 3/13/07)

Sen. Barack Obama surrounds himself with a number of individuals and advisors who are hostile to Israel and American Jews. These men have played instrumental roles in shaping Sen. Obama’s world views. They include Zbigniew Brzezinski, General Tony McPeak and Reverend Jeremiah Wright. All are known for their anti-Israel views.

Obama has not shown the wisdom, experience or strength to stand up to the people who would do us harm.

Paid for by the Republican Jewish Coalition. Not authorized by any candidate or candidate’s committee.

The 90% of Jews who will vote for Hussein, will be electing a proven dangerous anti-semite.

There are vast millions of muslim dollars spent on Hussein, and he will owe big time favors.

Jews voting for obama will be signing their own death warrants. All I can say is if they are dumb enough to do it, then suffer.
