LAS VEGAS – A 6-year-old boy kidnapped from a Las Vegas home by alleged drug dealers posing as policemen has been found alive in a neighborhood northeast of the Las Vegas Strip, police said early Sunday.
The child was "in extremely good condition" and had been taken to University Medical Center in Las Vegas for examination, Las Vegas police Capt. Vincent Cannito said at a news conference.
"He is safe and in our custody," Cannito said. "It's a blessing this child has been found."
Cole Puffinburger was recovered at around 10:30 p.m. Saturday after a caller informed detectives about a child walking alone on a street in a middle-class neighborhood of tidy, modest-sized homes about 5 miles from the Las Vegas Strip, Las Vegas police Officer Jay Rivera said.

Wait, somebody calls police to report the 5 YO is wandering the neighborhood, but doesn’t bring him inside to safety? Police then find the boy in front of a local Methodist church.
What’s wrong with people today?
Maybe it was a single man who was afraid he would somehow be suspected of kidnapping the child if he took him into his home for safety. That’s how our world is today.
The story is not very complete, is it? Perhaps he used a cell phone to call the police, and stayed with the child until they arrived. Who knows?
Because most folks are smart enough to not want to risk $10s of thousands in attorney's fees.
Perhaps the caller was afraid that he would have been in some kind of trouble if he had done so--as sometimes happens to Good Samaritans who stop to help accident victims.
Who knows? Maybe they were scared off by the thought that the kidnappers were close by.

I just hope the child was not abused in any way - being kidnapped is bad enough.

Amen to that! Didn’t they cancel the Amber Alert yesterday? When I heard that, I was so afraid they’d received info that the child had been killed. I sat here, staring at the poor baby’s picture.....so sad.. To hear that he’s alive, after personally believing he was gone, gives the feeling of resurrection.
Now pray that the trauma of this horrible experience will fade rapidly and that he will be showered with love and care by those around him. And that ALL the monsters involved in his abduction receive true justice. The poor little guy must have been so terrified. :(

I honestly didn’t see this good an outome for the little fellow if stories tying his grandfather to Mexican drug lords were true. If the grandfather’s actions could put him in that severe jeopardy, I hope he is taken far from his family.
Did anyone see this little boy’s aunt being interviewed on TV? If she wasn’t a poster child for a meth-head, I don’t know who is. I’ve yet to see the mother...has anyone?

Once the cost of the kidnapping outweighed its benefits, the kidnappers cut him loose and fled.
I hope his grandfather dies in prison.
I read recently the number of folks who come up utterly missing and never found again ever . . . incredible.

Well, the northeast might be Obama's idea of "middle-class", but the place where they found the kid probably isn't much above a ghetto. It's not surprising nobody called the police.
