Powell endorsed Obama..go figure :)No cares. Good riddance.
Depends on what he ACCOMPLISHED FOR THE COUNTRY.
I don't agree. The country is hell-bent on cradle to the grave government goodies. Obama is promising more goodies than his opponent.
Ted Kennedy has worked for the country all his life....Joe Biden has also.....
BACKFIRING NOW with J.WRIGHT could be a K.O. win for McCAIN/PALIN...Only a little TV ad with that nice preacher saying GOD damn USA and then C.POWELL and B.H.OBAMA/Michelle O. and all that USA gave them...
Those endlessly frustrated only want to take benefits from USA ...and endlessly complain and whine...
That’s the result of affirmative action. They are used to be granted(you know the socialist disease)
BINGO
McCain/Palin 08
Unlike you I don’t blame Bush for the Messiah. I blame the idiots who are voting for him.
Who do I get to blame for McCain?
I am not surprised.
This would seem to many that MLK, Jr.’s dream of a society where you are ‘judged not by the color of your skin, but by the content of your character’ is shattered.
I don’t believe that for a moment. That society exists — among whites. Unfortunately, many of them are deceived into compensating for past mistakes and choose to ignore the character issue this time around.
A colorless society? You’ve got to be kidding me. That is lost in the black community. Most blacks judge ‘by the color of one’s skin.’ That’s RACIST.
They polled the military not too long ago: all groups show overwhelmingly going for McCain, except one - Blacks/African-Americans. If that’s not racist, I don’t know what is.
We know this about Gen. Powell. He was a recipient of a white society who truly judge by the content of one’s character. Too bad, some are POOR JUDGE of character, so somebody who is a complete fraud may rise to the top undetected.
There were many minority officers in the U.S. military who should never have made it in this profession. One of them is General Taguba, a person I should be proud of because he and I hailed from the same province back home. Unfortunately, I have to repudiate him for his extremely biased, anti-military Abu Ghraib report. And I was right about this man’s liberalism. After his retirement, Taguba started speaking out and putting America down.
Would the media have hammered the lame duck administration for meddling? Of course. And. . .
Part of the reason the msm uses Bush as a doormat is because they know he won't fight back.
The msm is kind of like our own version of the islamofascists - they only respect overwhelming power and viciousness.
“But why talk of a new party two weeks before the election it seems to me thats designed to split Republicans and allow Obama to win”
True that the talk of a “new party” would be premature but I think that “alicewonders” was thinking ahead...our future options.
Very articulate post.
Yes, we may have a resurgence of conservatism...but conservatives have lost the black vote because we just can’t get that switch from the years long Dem Kool-aid that Dems are for Blacks, no matter what reality shows has happened to the black community.
Not in the military.
“Barack Obama will be a ‘transformational President’.” — Colin Powell
Sure will, if you want to transform the US into a version of 1950’s Russia!
Putting America down gets you fifteen minutes of fame and a few bucks.
Where is General Taguba today?
.
If Obama wins, I want ALL of the Al Sharptons and Jesse Jacksons of the world to disappear forever. This country is not racist if we are putting a black man in the White House as Commander-In-Chief!
BTTT
It's the only safe move a black in America could make. Anything else, and the blacks call them an Uncle Tom, are taunting and cruel. Just a practical move, IMHO.

Mr. Powell, You have just confirmed that you are a racist -choosing a candidate based on the color of his/her skin, and nothing more than an Afirmative Action clown yourself. You endorse a neo-Marxist amateur fool for president - this clearly goes against everything you allegedly stood for. What this now does, though, is to open up the Pandoras box of us whiteys voting for McCain/Palin besed soley on their race. Oh, one last thing, McCain/Palin campaign, Jerry Wright can now be used - just remember what Geraldine Ferraro said The only reason Obama is where he is is because hes black. Go get em! McCain/Palin 2008!
Colin Powell - the black Wesley Clark!

I don’t know why anyone is surprised.
Powell revealed what a weasel he is last year before the surge, when he whined to the media about how he “tried to talk GWB out of going into Iraq”, and claimed the war was lost.
I lost all respect for him then.
“The country is hell-bent on cradle to the grave government goodies. Obama is promising more goodies than his opponent. “
My take also. Even around here we see the populist rhetoric. I’d say 30-40% of Freepers are actually populists or one issues “conservatives” - abortion or guns.
The true character of Colin Powell came forward with the Novak-Armitage affair, and it had slime ball written all over it.
The next black who says he is voting for Oabma because he is a transformational figure, my TV is in serious danger. What's transformational about communism.
So now you are telling me when the blacks all vote for the black candidate it isn't racism? So what would it be if all the whites voted for the white candidate. Transformative, right?
