Democrats Draw Crowd of 100,000
In Garment District, Mondale Dresses Down 'Radical Preachers'
NEW YORK, Nov. 1 -- In their last joint appearance before Election Day, Walter F. Mondale and Geraldine A. Ferraro drew an estimated 100,000 supporters to a Garment District rally where the Democratic candidates denounced the "radical preachers" and "extremists who control the Republican Party."

Great post. Love all the historical perspective you’ve been providing. This one is especially timely. Keep it up.
Most are from neighboring Illinois.
So what.
Ironic, Wright?
Obama’s home base St. Louis and East St. Louis. Why is he camapigning where he shouldn’t have too.
Nice find! And you know Mondale really did do well with those city-dwellers, as will the marxist messiah. But guess what, McCain will still win the electoral vote.
Of course, it works both ways. I’ve been saying the same thing about the Palin’s crowds. Enthusiasm within the “choir” does not equate to election day returns.
Barack drew 100 thousand today in St. Louis.
Breathlessly reported on Fox.
Interesting. 1984. 100,000 people at a Dem rally. Breathlessly reported by the MSM.
Same as it ever was... same as it ever was... same as it ever was...

For a second there, I thought this was new. I was wondering why Ferraro was suddenly campaigning for Barry until I saw the date.
“Democrats Draw Crowd of 100,000”
Govt. cheese being handed out?
You do realize this was a MONDALE FERRARO rally lo these many decades ago?
Absolutely correct, don’t believe what you read or hear about Obama’s got it hands down, THEY DON’T WANT YOU TO COME OUT AND VOTE. REMEMBER THE MEDIA IS IN THE OBAMA CAN, THEY WANT A LOW VOTER TURN OUT OF REPUBLICANS AND COSERVATIVES, GET OUT AND VOTE
Democrats really have that whole cult of personality thing this year. “Followers”. And often we know a band is involved to help bring the crowds.
Republicans have “supporters” not followers.
Conservative thinkers know politicians work for us, far less “worship” going on there.
If Sarah draws large crowds, I think that is more significant. Each person there probably represents way more supporters at home then at a democrat cult gathering.
That's the point, in 84 Mondale/Ferraro drew 100,000 in their voting base, NYC, and in 2004 Obama draws 100,000 in a heavily urban and African-American area St. Louis/East St. Louis.
I think yours is the question we should be examining.
Is there any doubt Sarah could gather such a crowd in
Alaska if needed? But why?
People also lie to Pollsters especially this year with African-American in the race they don’t want to be called a racist!
It would be sweet irony if MCain won Minnestota. Ya, you betcha!
