IF YOUR A DEMOCRAT WITH A CONSERVATIVE BENT TIME TO SEND A MESSAGE

Face it. The present Democratic party is not the party of your fathers father. Its been taken over ever so slowly by radicals who are bent on destroying the present culture and will circle the wagons whenever corruption gets revealed. This is what to expect and very much worse once it wins the executive, legislative and lets not forget the judicial branches of government.

If you feel as a union member your obligated to vote the party line. Fine, if your a member of the teachers union, a government employees union, or the corrupt SEIU there's little chance of getting that one cleaned up.

But if your not. The only thing going for you is the open vote, Elimination of the secret ballot election pushed by Obama. What happens if they're a bunch of crooks and you want to change officers ?

Obama has been found to talk out of both sides of his mouth on NAFTA and Obama is just telling you what you want to hear about restricted trade and protected tarrifs. Fogetboutit ! That is what extended the last depression under FDR. .

If you feel your tired of VP Dick Cheney (worth est 30M) making money off of Haliburton. Lets take the folks who made millions off of Fannie Mae;Johnson,26M,Gorlick,26M, Raines,90M, Mudd,11M (in06),who; are, were, are, campaign advisors to Obama.

Do you think B.O. will ever find fault with Daniel Mudd of FM when he praised BO for help when McCain tried to reform Fannie Mae in 2006 ?

And here's a news flash...Obama when he was lawyering with ACORN was intimidating banks pushing for those $500 downstroke high priced home mortages.

The key democrats; Frank (House) Dodd (Senate)have been in control and along with Obama stopped reform at every turn. They set the laws to police these organizations not the president. Do you think they'll clean this up? Certainly not if they get the presidency

Now the terrorist and radicals connection and the reason why its being hushed up. When WGN broadcast Stanley Kurtz of the National Review revelations about Prof Bill Ayers/Obama's use of 150M in funds set up by a conservative endowment to advance education. They wasted that 150M on radical and black blame US whitey organizations including the church Obama belonged to for 20 years.

Obama supporters were given instructions stop the broadcast. Beseiged WGN with threats and protests . While Obama wasn't successfull in stopping the broadcast Obama's messages got through to Richard Zell new owner of Tribune Enterprizes which includes The Trib and the LA Times. Both papers endorse BO in glowing terms

So much for Barack Obamas administrative experience...If Obama did any good while in control of those funds you can be sure all America would know about it..But his brown shirted efforts of threats and intimidation to silence investigation and exposure of his wasting and misdirecting them is VERY SINISTER AND DANGEROUS

That brings US to Plumber Joe. The guy asks Obama a question. BO answers truthfully this time and reveals himself to be what he is, a radical socialist. If BO was in office he'd have the FBI and the CIA on Joes case Whats worse nobody would ever know about it

And that is something beside all the other baggage Obama has you should consider when you vote this election

.

Good for the most part, but using full names instead of abbreviations and getting the difference between your and you’re correct will probably help to convince more folks.

"IF YOUR A DEMOCRAT WITH A CONSERVATIVE BENT TIME TO SEND A MESSAGE"

"Your" versus "my"?

I don't get it.

Of course there are other grammatical options:

"You are"

"You're"

Please correct the error in the title, and author, if you have pretensions to being professional or to being respected as a serious writer, LEARN THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN "YOUR" AND "YOU'RE."

YOUR = belonging to you.

YOU'RE = you are

We all make mistakes and typos. But these errors spring from pure ignorance and guessing. WHEN IN DOUBT, LOOK IT UP. If you as a writer weren't in doubt as to the difference between "you're" and "your," then you're an amateur in spirit if not in fact. No, no license required to be a "real" writer -- just knowledge of and respect for the craft. That respect includes looking things up when in doubt, instead of guessing or assuming.

I repeat: typos and accidents are one thing. Repeated errors out of ignorance and bad education are another.

Apologies extended, Moses, if I hurt your feelings. However, no apologies for trying to get you to understand that when people cavalierly seem to toss off the differences beteween "you're" and "your" as unimportant or secondary to the message, it indicates two things: laziness and arrogance. I admire you very much for writing this piece, but feel compelled to jump down your throat for either being too ignorant, lazy, or arrogant to doubt (and then look up) your use of a word or punctuation. I make a living by writing, and my good ol' Ma (also a writer) drilled into my head early the best advice a writer can ever receive: When in doubt, look it up.

Here's wishing you success in your very worthy endeavor! And remember that excellent advice of my mom's. It has saved me from many, many, many embarassing incidents.

Forgive me for this, but good grief, this is what i would expect to see on the MSM, picking the message apart but ignoring its context.

Is he/she preaching to the converted or not? If not then the dims should feel right at home.

For what it is worth, I was more focused on what you had to say than how you said it. Good post.

I agree with you, Finny. I will not read articles in which the writer has not mastered the basic rudiments of spelling and grammar. It is akin to listening to a musical piece in which misplayed, false notes abound.

The difference is that I'm not challenging the message or picking it apart, least of all using a lame excuse to pick it apart (as Dems are doing in picking on Joe the Plumber for lack of unnecessary "license" in order to ignore the point he so eloquently made).

Words are the means to communicate important concepts. If you don't take seriously the task of using the right words, then you undermine the message. I want this guy's message to succeed, and starting it off with a significant error in something so basic undermines its credibility from the get-go, whether one likes it or not. It's kind of like the nice, sweet kid who gets a tatoo and a lip piercing stud and then wonders why people treat him like he's a delinquent. Whether the kid with the tatoo and piercing likes it or not, he is judged by his appearance. The same thing is at work here.

Moses, are you saying that your use of "your" in "If your a Democrat," or "If your a member of a teachers union ..." is CORRECT?

Is that what you're saying in your post #9

If so, then you have some rough times ahead.

Off-times heavy handed insistance of the proper sentence or word construction by any amature editor inhibits the writer and dilutes the intent and direction of the presented piece. When assistant editor, and editor of weekly and daily local and national publications that was my rule but since I’m retired at age 77 I put up with krap now and then.

The aim of an editor (or “moderator)is to ensure that the article presents a coherent thought with brevity if needed.
ABOUT THE USE OF YOUR
You’re wrong on the first and correct technically on the second... If you’re a member...But both case of your(s) are used in common everyday language and when the intention of the writer is clear you leave it stet. Refering to the caption and my use of YOUR. It was intended as a possessive attribution but to be technically perfect it should not have been followed by A . However I’m addressing a specific kind of democrat.

There are many postings which I see, there, meaning a direction, being used for, their, the possessive. I don’t see the moderator jumping in to correct this.

The “Your” “tic” nit picking embelished with supercilious remarks refering to the critics superior ability was of course a personal attack.(this clown don’t the difference between your and you’re.. ho-ho-ho) But It was directed at the article to diminish the effectiveness of the piece, and I ponder where your comming from....

Ditto post #13, and unfortunately, you also confirm my original assessment that you are arrogant and lazy. You also probably lie, as no truly educated editor — copy, assistant, assignment, or other — would stand for allowing such a grade-school error as “your a Democrat” instead of “you’re a Democrat” to appear in his publication. You are either lying, or your jobs were very short-lived, or the publications you worked for were very amateurish and low-rent indeed. Too bad for you, but worse for the rest of us because you really have a lot to offer, but you are too proud to accept honest, justified correction on something as basic and simple as grammar, punctuation, and spelling. You are your own worst enemy.

Bill Clinton can sign up as a democrat with just a bent. Does that count?
