A slight change for this, my second "real" week back at this. Last week I spent most of the day Saturday assembling everything and then, only when it was complete, posted it all at once. However, that meant I didn't post until later in the day. This week I'm posting the basics from the shows as soon as I have it and I'll then go do my research and analysis and post that as I get each show done.
My purpose in doing this thread has always been to give Freepers as much time as I can to find out for themselves who these people on the shows are and to get them to share their insights so that when we go into the main event, Alas Babylon!'s live tread on Sunday, we'll be more prepared.
Please post anything you have that will help us figure out "why these guys?"

Do you really think they’d have booked Powell if he was gonna endorse McCain?

It would be hysterical if they asked Powell all excitedly with a drum roll and he replied—my good friend John McCain—CUT to commercial and then they quickly escort Powell off the set.

Why then has Powell given the maximum $2300 to the McCain Campaign and not to Hussein?

Do you really think theyd have booked Powell if he was gonna endorse McCain? You got it!
They are setting this up as a super-hyped media event:
"Powell Endorses Obama"
Who could have ever guessed that would happen? /sarc
It will play and replay on all the MSM for the next X days, wall-to-wall like the "Tim Russert Media Event" held earlier this year.

I don’t think Powell will endorse anybody. I look at that Roundtable on NBC and wonder what Scarborough is doing there. On second thought Scarborough hasn’t been much of a conservative lately although he does take it to Mika at times. Debbie Wasserman Schultz has go to be one of the most annoying interviews ever. She’s represents a Florida District, but has a New Jersey accent and sounds like a female version of Robert Wexler.
To: Phsstpok
Hey Phsstpok!! Hope you are progressing, feeling better. Go Joe the Plumber!! He's our new corollary to Sarah! What a hell of a team they would make! Can you imagine them touring the country!!! Six figure crowds for sure.
If you can ever figure out what the DBM are doing when they ask anyone on their shows let me know. It's pretty irrational other that the obvious bias guests.

Thanks for your efforts. Maybe this will give people more time to contemplate what’s coming up.
The last time Newt was on This Week, he did not have much time to discuss things. Maybe this weekend he will have more time since they are using the entire hour. Hope so, anyway.
This Week? One sort of libertarian, Will, one Republican, Newt, and four Democrats, including the moderator. I bet they believe they are fair and balanced too.
I know political junkies, freepers, watch and analyze all this but I sometimes wonder if the candidates staff watch these shows? Judging from what is said the following week, one would think not.

The only thing I can say is how can he endorse a candidate that literally has said that the Iraq war was wrong and a lie. Is Powell saying he was lied to when he presented is case to the UN? So was he dumb enough to believe it if it was a lie? If he was dumb enough to believe it and go before the world to perpertrate a lie, than he is not to be believed now.
Because of McCain, Powell’s case is at least going to have a good ending because Iraq may now be a free country.
Is he going to say because of his lie at the UN, which wasn’t his fault for lying, thousands of US solders were killed for nothing?
It just doesn’t make sense to me.
To: Morgan in Denver
If I had to guess I would say that Powell will not endorse either candidate. Hope I am wrong and he goes for McCain.

Great to see this up so early, Phsstpok.
