“If he endorses Obama, it would be the ULTIMATE betrayal”

I don’t necessarily think that’s true. Why don’t you click on the link? In fact, I must insist that you click it. Phttp://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/791638/posts#commentlease!

Oh course it is, I hate to tell you this, but I must be on fire with the Holy spirit tonight, I know nothing at all about what I am talking about, but something is leading me. I’m telling you, Powell is going to endorse Obama. Think about it. This is some spooky stuff!

Got any tax liens, General?

LOL!
If so, General, be afraid. Be VERY afraid.

Especially because Obama has shown himself to be utterly without
prejudice when it comes to throwing people "under the bus".
White lady (Hillary!), black guy (Rev. Wright), don't make any
difference to Obama. As long as he wins...
BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY!

Yes, it would. It would put the election away for an Obama win IMO! However, many people will know exactly why he's endorsing Obama....race. So, that might undermine it's impact a little.

I get so tired of hearing about who it was talked Pres. George Bush (Sr.) out of finishing off Sadam Hussein in ‘91. I have a very clear memory that is was the Saudis and Europeans who put pressure on Bush to stop the troops from pushing on to Baghdad. The Saudis in particular feared a power vacuum if Sadam was defeated.

It’s just one of those strange things about the ME - they’ll tolerate horrifying tyrants murdering women and children next door, but are scared poo-less over the thought of regular folks getting the opportunity to make their own political descisions. I guess they’re afraid if their own people see it working so well next door, they’ll kick all the lazy money-grubbing royals out and run things themselves!

My gut tells me he is also. And it will be bad...It’s all that will be in the news leading up to the election.

Does this look like someone who is going to endorse Obama's opponent five days later on Sunday?

Doesn’t matter...it would be the ultimate betrayal to the Republicans and his friend...he has never supported a Democrat, according to what I read and the Republicans have always treated him well and stood by him. You just don’t do that.

I just can't understand him supporting Obama. He's obviously well versed in politics. world affairs and most importantly the military. I'm really nervous if Obama gets elected. He has to know Obama isn't good for the military among a thousand other things. Maybe the fact that he would never be able to get a security clearance and he wants to be POTUS?

So, did you click on the link? What did you think? By the way, I am looking for the other thread that says Obama will be endorsed by Powell, I saw it and couldn’t find it again.

Even though Powell leans to the left he is a Retired General and has to know that Obama lack the tools to be C-in-C, especially in a time of war.

I just don't see him endorsing Obama despite his obvious heartfelt wish to do so.

I hope I am correct!

Colin Powell will not endorse Obama. He will say that Obama has accomplished a lot and that is not to be denied. However, John McCain is the right person for this job.

Sigh...I want to cry..everytime we get a little momentum, we get a setback...and as much as i hate to say it, this might be the setback that throws the whole thing away. If he was going to do it, out of respect for McCain, he should have done it earlier. I'm really, really upset.

Maybe, just maybe, his camp hinted at Obama so the world would be watching and then couldn't ignore it when he came out for McCain? I can dream, can't I? The fact is that someone is leaking this and why would Obama's camp leak this if it weren't true..it would just hurt them all the more and make Powell look stupid. It's going to be Obama.

Look his actual history as a general up and you’ll find he was not a very good one.

As to your contention that the left cares about his endorsement and so should we... that defies explanation. Why should we care about everything the left cares about? Should we abandon our own ides and principles just to chase what THEY are constantly saying? Should we “care” for their words more than ours? Don’t you think you were being a bit silly with that one?
