I expect Powell WILL endorse Hussein, because Powell is black.

In the military, the numbers for blacks are way better than for the country as a whole. A mere 79% of the blacks support Obama. And 12% are for McCain! Imagine that!

Libs set themselves up for such stupid falls.

The real setup would be if he made the contrib knowing that he would 'see the light' in Oct -- all planned by Team BO.

If he was obsessed with racial loyalty why be join the Republican Party and Serve in Republican Administrations? Why not join the democrats and be with the rest of the Race Hustlers and their culture of perpetual victim-hood?

I am not saying he won't endorse Obama, but It won't be because of his race. If anything it will be because sadly, they see eye to eye on many FP matters.

On the other hand, he could also endorse McCain who is a close and long time friend. A friend whom he has also maxed out in contributions to!

I just kept seeing liberals go on about it. I shouldn’t warn them off stupidity. I’ve been there myself thinking maybe Ron Paul would put his country first and endorse McCain. I was wrong but this time I’m not. Powell if he is still the man I’ve seen over the years will do what good soldiers do. They love their country, defend their country, and don’t leave anyone behind especially not John McCain.

This was before BHO got the nomination. The worst case would be for him to tell how great McC is, and that’s why he gave him money - it’s just that BHO is soooo great, he had to say yes. I have no idea what he’ll go - backing McC is great, but doing nothing is the next best thing.

Why hasn’t Powell given any money in 2008? That’s what troubles me by looking at his contributions. Everything stopped in 2007..before Obama came along.

I predict Powell will endorse the Marxist squirrel — it’s a race thang, doncha know.

If Powell does come out for McCain and helps put McCain over the top with Independent voters, Powell will be more reviled in the “black community” than he ever thought possible. He will be viewed as the ultimate “race traitor” by most, and “Uncle Tom” will be the mildest term used for him.

I’d love to see the endorsement, not b/c I concern myself with Powell’s political preferences but b/c it really could make a difference, such a prominent black bucking the Obamessiah cult.

Still, I would not be surprised to see Powell go for Obama despite his donations. Powell just danced on a London stage with the loathsome Kanye West, after all. It is far from clear to me that Powell is resistant to the race-based hysteria at this point. He just said (in London) how important it was to continue identification as “African Americans” into the coming generations. Someone thinking along those lines right now is not so likely to resist the siren songs of the Obamanation.

If Powell endorses Obama, it will be seen as a "major disappointment" for McCain and the MSM will be asking "Is it over?" for McCain, and how this shows that Obama has "plenty of credibility on the foreign relations front, with a backing from an honored general and former Sec'y of State" because the Republicans can't smear a SOS under a Republican president.

If he backs McCain, they'll note "ANOTHER George W. Bush/McCain" connection, and the story will be at the bottom of the newscast just before the weather wrap-up on the 6 o'clock news.

No f’ing way will he turn on McCain. If Powell does this I would be super pissed. If he does then it’s just coz he wants to be Secretary of Defense. Only thing I can think of.

Well, he testified as a character witness for Ted Stevens this week.

I was a bit suprised to see that...buried in the inside pages.

I think Powell plays it safe, and says something like
‘they’re both fine men and America would be safe with either’.

That wouldn’t shock me.
But...

It could be that Gen. Powell will go the same direction as Col.
Bud Day, one of McCain’s cell-mates in North Vietnam.
Day wasn’t totally complimentary of McCain in the book “American
Patriot”...critical enough that I was shocked to see him on stage
with McCain during the Iowa primaries. And I saw Day in the audience
(wearing his Medal of Honor) during McCain’s wrap-up speech at the
Republican Convention.

Maybe Powell is going to show a “brothers in arms” approach with
McCain on Sunday.

I think this might be a spin move on McCain's part to play up like Powell is going to support Obama and then have Powell reveal on MTP that SURPRISE! he is backing his good friend John McCain.

He could also claim he supported McCain in 2007, but was turned off by the “negative campaigning”, the Palin pick, yada yada...

but if he turns, we’ll know exactly why.

He did, but that was over a year ago—before the coronation.

I certainly hope the libs are setting themselves up for a fall. There is a LOT of chatter that he will endorse That one.

Not before they unleash vicious attacks on him. Just look at Joe the Plumber.

I will never forget those generals sitting in that tent with Saddam’s boys and getting taken!

Yep. Never should have let them keep their helicopters.
