Smerconish: I'm for Obama (Bye-Bye RINO)
Philly.com ^ | 10/17/08 | Mike Klein

Posted on 10/17/2008 4:47:28 PM PDT by pissant

Michael Smerconish lit up the phone lines and filled his in-box this morning at his WPHT show with word that he's planning to vote for Barack Obama -- marking the first time since he registered to vote 28 years ago that he'll pull the Democrat lever for president.

He'll explain all in his Sunday column in The Inquirer's Currents section -- as much as he can do in 750 words. The intro reads: "John McCain is an honorable man who has served his country well. But he will not get my vote."

In a chat this afternoon, Smerconish acknowledged that most of the callers and e-mails were scathing, capping months of criticism that began when Smerconish invited Obama to speak on the air. "They never wanted me to welcome Obama in the first place," he said. In the spring, Smerconish announced that if he were a Democrat, he'd prefer Obama over Hillary Clinton.

Who is this Commie maggot? I’ve never heard of him so I don’t know how his endorsement could help “the messiah.”

No wonder the Baxter Factor lets him sub on his show all the time.

I’m curious as to what is going on in the minds of people like Smerconish and Chris Buckley. Are they so convinced that Obama’s going to win that they see an opportunistic time to jump on the bandwagon?

Yea Michael is more interested in proving to Chris Mathews that he is not a "Kool Aid Drinker" so he and his Mainline MILF Wife get put on the MSNBC Cocktail Party "A" list. He is a case study on how "celebrity" status warps your political opinions.

Hey Michael KoolAid comes in grape flavor as well.

Smerconish is a socialist. You vote for a socialist because you support socialism.

"...he's planning to vote for Barack Obama -- marking the first time since he registered to vote 28 years ago that he'll pull the Democrat lever for president."

That pegs my BS meter. There is no way someone who would vote for Bush instead of Algore or Kerry, or Bush and Dole instead of Clinton would NOT vote for Obama, no matter how much they didn't like McCain. This guy is just another lying demonrat.

What is it with hosts that interview this guy. First O'Reilly now Smerconish.

Maybe that hypnosis theory stuff isn't that far off.

Rush said he would vote for Clinton, and took some angry phone calls for about 20 minutes, and then admitted it was a joke. Good show.

I guess this was a little different.

Does Smerconish think Democrats will listen to his show? The answer is NO. They’re too busy watching The Today Show or Good Morning America. I predict his ratings will slide. He might have to go back to his law career full time.

Neither could I. He used to be pretty good UNTIL he started going on MSNBC to sub for Chrissy Matthews. He doesn’t want to lose that gig, pure and simple. He’s also in Philly...but I have a feeling that his numbers are going to go down. He’s on before Glen Beck and then Rush...

He’s also a lawyer....says it all, doesn’t it?

This election has been great for identifying RINOs. I lot of false friends have identified themselves.
