Bruce Springsteen used his latest fundraising bash for Democrat Barack Obama to poke fun at one of the presidential candidate's Republican rivals, Sarah Palin.
Springsteen dueted with fellow rocker Billy Joel for the first time ever at the bash, at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom on Thursday. And the Born to Run hit-maker jokingly compared the pair's inexperience to criticism of Alaska Governor and vice presidential candidate Palin.
He told the crowd, "Billy and I have rehearsed a little, but you have to consider this more like the vice presidential debate: you have to Palin-ise your expectations. We seem like we know a lot, but we don't really."
Springsteen and Joel were joined at the fundraiser by india.arie and John Legend.
Yeah... right
These has-beens are still craving the spotlight.
I know a Joe the Plumber kind of guy who did work on Bruce’s mansion in NJ. It took over a year for him to get paid. Many times they said to him that he should not charge for his work because just being able to tell people he did work at BS’s house should be good enough.
What can Sarah humanly do to overcome the unfair “stupid” label ?
Glory Days & Allentown just pretend to carry about common folk. They are just a means to lyrical ends.
SPRINGSTEIN IS A NO CLASS POS.

Interesting how these entertainment folks don’t realize that people don’t really care about their political opinions, except when it comes to expressing it in such an offensive manner. When people make a purchase choice, that’s when they’ll remember being insulted.
Springsteen and Joel must not realize that those who could still be their fan base have outgrown their liberalism, for the most part.
Didn’t he have a song called Bored in the USA?
Bruce Springsteen... hmmmm...
Isn’t he the BIG CELEBRITY who was giving a pre-event concert for Obama and had an audience of about 12? He’s just jealous that Palin can pack ‘em in by the ten-thousands and he can’t.
Sit down, Bruce.
Guys like Springsteen must forget that folks from Red states have put a lot of money in their pockets over the years too.
Well, they need not worry about that any more. I wouldn’t piss on “the boss” if he was on fire, much less buy any of his crap.
Bruce never received a stinking dime from me. Bruce?...whatever.
“Freeper elk” mocks Bruce Commie-has-been Springsteen.
“Its really sad to watch a talented guy, who’s early stuff I used to love, turn into an irrelevent old fool.”
Like John McCain?
“Born in the U.S.A.” is one of the most anti-American songs ever written.
Expect to have the full power of the State come down on you just as it is coming down on Joe.
Thanks for the music, Bruce.
I will be sure to give your political opinion the weight it deserves - exactly zero. That goes for you too, Billy Joel.
No offense, but shut up and sing.
Billy Joel was discussing songwriting and whether he came up with the words or music first. He said that he tried coming up with real poetic phrasing once and wound up with some kind of “the wind blows over the waves and then...” kind of rambling thing that he could compose to.
He then proceeded to play the music to “Honesty” and showed how he could “improvise” the words to a melody singing “SODOMY is such a lonely word” to an audience of teens on a childrens’ tv channel.
