Network news executives said they are preparing for an unusual Election Night challenge: How to be honest with the audience, and still keep them tuned in, if the race between John McCain and Barack Obama is effectively decided before most Americans have finished dinner. --------------------------------------------------------

Politico has really gone down the toilet in the last month or so..

You are saying NJ for McCain, right?

Not me. But wouldn't THAT be fun.

I corrected myself, NH, maine and NJ will go deffo for McCain, its NY thats a no chance.

Oh, com'n. I think McCain takes NH. That's probably it in this list, although he might win ME in a squeaker if he has already won so many other states (mostly notably PA) that the networks are already declaring him the shock early winner.

I’m betting that the networks will start calling states for O with 1% of the returns in if he’s ahead..

I'm betting that after the Florida fiasco in 2000, that the major networks will keep their mouths shut until they're really, really sure.

I'd love for it to be an early evening, but my guess is on a lot of states "Too Close to Call".

You know, I could be wrong but it does look as though it’s overwhelming power...the kind that the Republicans would let ride because they have some kind of a trump card of some magnitude...otherwise it wouldn’t make sense...what we’d be witnessing is the willing death of the two party system...does that make sense?

What I find amazing is Fox protecting him somewhat, Bill O praising him or at least standing up for him agaist Laura Ingraham, McCain praising him and now Sarah saying “I’m sure he loves America”. It seems this guy can do no wrong? Are we able to see this because we know the “truth” and those others don’t?

Someone missed the fact that AP, Gallup, etc.. are polling on average 250 more Democrats than Republicans in their "sampling polls."

Even at that, Obambi is only 2 points ahead of McCain in the polls - and they're still tightening.

I think it's going to be a long night for the Obamanuts.

Heck, in yesterday's Chicago Tribune there was a huge article that the Chicago Police are geared up for riots in the event of an Obama win or loss.

Says alot about Obama's supporters, don't it?

When conservatives stay home, Dems win.

If they do, it won't be because the Lamestream media, or the likes of Politico, has discouraged them. It will be because McCain has discouraged them.

However, if they do not, and I think they will not, it will be because Sarah Palin has ENcouraged them.

I plan to vote for Palin, and against The One. For me, McCain just rides in on Palin's train.

I voted a few days ago and mailed it in. Ballots are flying out of here like there's no no tomorrow. And I think that's how people really see it. I can guarantee you that a huge majority of the votes coming from here are not for The One. :)

And many of those going to states with Dem election officials won't be counted, there will be the legions of lawyers who are now arguing that the ACRON registrations can't be challenged or checked, will be arguing that, oh that one isn't postmarked, this one is 15 minutes late, etc, etc, when it comes to the votes from There, and here too for that matter. Same folks, just deployed or not.

The enthusiasm for voting is too strong here this year for you to be able to daunt anyone's spirits with that. Our votes DO matter and I'm surprised that you would try to suppress it. I thought that was the media's job. :)

The bummer is that an early night means early riots.

I’m only half kidding.
