The ‘doctor’ doesn’t deserve sympathy. He has made it clear that if the little boy had shown signs of Downs the ‘doctor’ would have been all right with murdering the alive little one in the womb of his ‘wife’. Sorry, this guy is still dead in soul and hasn’t a clue.

Oh, absolutely the doctor doesn't deserve sympathy. The father, however, needs a mix of sympathy and reality (yes, he needs to be told that what he did is objectively, undeniably murder). But I still don't know a whole lot of people who'd respond positively to being called a "vile agent of murder." It's not exactly the way to win someone to your cause.
