Alfred E Smith Dinner is a MUST SEE!

Posted on 10/16/2008 7:06:49 PM PDT by Safrguns

I was waiting forever to see a thread pop up on this as it was being aired on Fox. This Dinner where the two candidates roasted each other as well as themselves was far better than ANY of the previous debates!... I was surprised that nothing was posted on it. I don't know when it will be re-aired. Anyone else know?... very much worth recording!

They are replaying it on FOX. Very funny! Obama, on the other hand, was NOT funny. He was BORING.

Obama had his moments, but you could see how hard he was struggling.

McCain was hysterically funny. I don’t know how much of that material he wrote himself, but his timing and delivery was incredible. The Democrat audience absolutely loved it, even when he was making fun of them and their candidate! It was a very nice respite from a brutal and very personal campaign.

I’m sure you are all aware that the best humor is based upon truth... and if you were to compare the performances based on laughter alone, McCain came away with a landslide victory.
While Barry did have his moments, his best lines seemed to only register at levels similar to McCain’s worst ones.

McCain was absolutely hilarious. Obama’s joke writers aren’t as good, and his delivery is lacking.

CSPAN had it live.

They usually do re-runs.

McCain was dead on balls accurate. Great delivery...perfect timing. Why can’t he be that good on the stump?

He has my vote!

I was under the impression that traditionally, serious campaigning points are not made at these events other than self deprecating remarks. I think in this case, both candidates were making very subtle and determined points to score against the other. Barry also seemed to be using the humor as a tool to blow off the more serious charges.

The last 5 minutes of Barry’s speach literally put me to sleep though.
