Somebody please tell McCain... that Ayers is a lot more than just an old, washed up terrorist.
I think McCain was smart to say that - all day long - all these "expert" pundits were saying that he had to hit Obama on Ayers. I'm sure Obama & his people worked all day long on perfecting his answer to this - probably at the expense of working on other answers. When McCain fluffed the Ayers thing off & went to work on other issues - I think it caught Obama off his performance. I'm sure McCain has commercials ready to roll that will hit him on this issue.

In other words, McCain doesn’t really believe that about Ayers, but he said it to throw Obama of?
There are other ways to throw Obama off without saying something you don’t believe.
In some ways McCain is terribly naive. I have no trouble believing that it will come as big news to him if and when he finds out what Ayers has been up to since his bombing days and until today.

Good observation. Mention it to peak interest and follow up with more details later. You can only do so much in 90 seconds.

McCain directed the thought flow from Ayers to knowing the truth about the past. His delivery isnt great, but he has a plan. He cut to the heart of the fraud- lack of truth, lack of honesty and transparency. And as an aside, I now understand why McCain himself is not going after Wright. It is all about the race card that he isnt allowing them to play on that issue.

DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING!
NO more calls, please.
We have a winner.
This is why McCain wimped out the last two weekends, so that he could completely (with the MSM as proof) undercut the accusations of hate and racism.
Even the astroturf plants at his rallies didn't draw him out.
And now that Obomber (he "bombs" without a teleprompter) has had to disown Lewis and the accusations of racism, the way is open for McCain to go in for the kill.
Cheers!
