He also is misleading about providing “affordable” health care by allowing access to the group rates enjoyed by federal employees, such as himself and John McCain. I am a federal employee, and my portion of health insurance for 2009 will go from $171 to $233 bi-weekly (United Health Care HMO). This is for family plan, which my family is only myself and my husband. There are cheaper plans which I’ll be looking at, but still pricey. Most people think fed employees have great benefits, and don’t get me wrong, we have great vacation and holiday benfits, but health benefits definitely are not one of them. Most will be disappointed if this ever is implemented.
