A Federal Way man beat, raped and enslaved his Afghan teen bride, forcing her to perform domestic labor....
Mohammad Atahee, 37, and four other King County residents kept the girl out of school so nobody would intervene in the secret arrangement and so she would be available to cook, clean, do laundry and perform child care .....
Mohammad Yousuf, who pleaded not guilty, and Nasima Yousuf were released under travel restrictions and a judge's order to make no direct or indirect contact with the girl....
The Afghan girl was 13 in 2005 when Nahid Yousufi and Nasima Yousuf persuaded her to marry Atahee, a permanent U.S. resident, and come to the United States.
Nasima Yousuf, then 68, falsely claimed the girl as her daughter..... Mohammad Yousuf, filed for an immigrant visa for the girl, claiming she was his stepdaughter.
When the girl arrived in SeaTac, Atahee served as her interpreter during border-patrol questioning. Then Mohammad Yousuf took the girl's Afghan passport and immigration documents....
On Aug. 6, 2006, the indictment says, Atahee assaulted the girl, and she reported the assault to Federal Way police. But Nahid Yousufi coerced her into recanting her statement, threatening to have her deported and to harm her family.
The indictment goes on to say that for the next year and a half, Atahee routinely beat and sexually assaulted the girl and forced her to perform all of the domestic chores ....
On Jan. 26.... Atahee raped the girl, and she reported the assault to Federal Way police. Nahid Yousufi then told Child Protective Services that the girl was 24, in an attempt to have her returned to Atahee.
The girl, now 16...... is a juvenile, Langlie said a T visa, which allows victims of human trafficking to remain in the U.S......

Sharia law does not belong in the United States
nor should it be recognized by our legal system as valid.
US law is US law and that is what applies here.
Want to live under Sharia? then move to Saudi Arabia or Iran.

Would you say that Sharia law the way that it is imposed in countries such as Iran and Saudi Arabia is inconsistent with the Constitution?
Ask yourself which of our leaders who is sworn to uphold the Constitution has criticized such application of Sharia law as we see in Iran and Saudi Arabia?
Sharia law as applied in Iran and Saudi Arabia is inconsistent with the Constitution of the United States. It imposes the religion of Islam on everyone regardless of their own religious beliefs. To the extent that any belief system violates the basic right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness that belief system is inimical to our constitution.
It is not appropriate for any of our leaders to measure other nations’ laws and practices against our constitution but against the constitutions of those nations. If Sharia law is agreed to by the people of that nation, then it is appropriate for them. Those who do not wish to live under those rules should find another home and we should welcome them with open arms.
I will point out that the United Nations espouse a charter where basic human rights are protected by member nations. Any violation of those basic human rights is subject to sanction and legal action by the International Court in the Hague.
Where I draw the line is at our borders. Anyone who comes here and murders a person for family honor should face a jury, a judge and an executioner as swiftly as possible. Anyone who performs genital mutilation on a girl or woman has committed sexual assault and should be tried and face the death penalty or a long prison sentence in solitary confinement. Such acts are not only an affront to basic human decency but a violation of our constitution and laws.
And, if you think that hanging a 13 year old girl from the end of a crane in public is just “punishment” for being seen walking down the street with a boy who is not a relative...? I question your humanity.

As applied in the countries you mention it cradles and breeds and encourages the attacks against us that have now persisted for almost twenty years. If we had the leadership to dramatically and swiftly wrest the oil weapon from tbeir hands (which could have been done long since) the bankruptcy of their form of the rule of Sharia law would be evident. As it is we cannot afford to let it continue but do nothing about it.
You and I have no disagreement. The culture in those states that espouse Sharia law does tend to breed enemies of freedom wherever it lives. The camel’s nose has come under the tent - it may be too politically risky to get hold of the rope and drag him out back where he belongs. The safest thing we can do is to put US Marshals under cover in every mosque in the US so we know what (if anything) they are preaching and planning against us. We should take comprehensive measures to protect ourselves from any attack. Allah fearing Moslems have nothing to fear.
