that’s why I am listening to the debate on XM. I am listening to a debate, but in my mind I see a boxing match. Obama is bloodied, hanging off the ropes.
Fox is already slanting it toward Obama..... and minimizing any impact McCain had.
Me too. I never watch debates, I always listen to them. That way, style over substance issues never sway anything I hear. McCain had the substance from what I heard in the debate and Obama had the style. If only this McCain showed up to the other debates, we wouldn’t be depending on Bradley Effects, Electoral anomalies and other Hail Marys to win this election.
It’s sort of like what I tell people on the Minnesota Vikings board I also post on: Your offense is supposed to score points, not your defense. Your defense is supposed to stop the other team from scoring points and if they score points on their own, it’s gravy. If you depend on your defense to score points for you, you’re in trouble. A quarterback is not always going to throw dead ducks to your cornerbacks. Both the Minnesota Vikings and McCain are depending on their defense to win (Scandals on the other side and the other side making gaffes to win rather than encouraging people to vote for our side).
McCain right now is hoping for an interception return for a touchdown, and right now, tonight’s debate was a tipped ball coming from a nearly sacked quarterback. It’s up to him to intercept this and take it to the house. And by taking it to the house, I mean making Obama look like a windbag willing to throw money at problems to conservative areas in Western PA, southern OH and outstate CO. We can do this. We just need to make Obama look like a windbag in those conservative areas.
