I hope you’re right......
Evidently they have been cowed by the media. Gonna be a long 8 years if this continues.
There was tight security at the high school, forcing supporters to stand on line for three hours or more.
A fire official said that 1,300 people were in the gym. Hundreds turned away were allowed to gather outside the building and listen to Palin on speakers. Hundreds more simply left.
An even larger crowd is already gathering for a 2 p.m. outdoor rally at Weirs Beach, according to Union Leader reporter Paula Tracy in Laconia.
Yet, I heard McCain’s campaign manager (I thought) say that they knew McCain was behind 6 points... .
Or out of reach. Either way.
1,300 people?
That seems terribly low.
I’m waiting for the Maine event, ME is closer in the polls then NH is, and has the same number of EV’s.
I agree. I cannot imagine my wife’s home state of Missouri electing Obama. Even out here in SoCal, strange things are afoot. I don’t see the bumper stickers I saw for Kerry, and other than the yoots that wear their Comrade Obama gear (seriously, it’s like the Soviet Union with these kids) I don’t see a large Pro-Obama presence outside of the Liberal strongholds like Venice and Santa Monica.
Very interesting election. Either they think Obama has this thing wrapped up, or people are uncomfortable with him.
I think people like the *thought* of a President Obama. However, they may not vote for him in the booth though or even show up.
2.5 weeks to go, but I think we’re in better shape than we were 2 weeks ago. Keep on fighting. We can toss Zero onto the ash heap.
I have a feeling though if we do not go nuclear on him, he may rise again in 4 years. We have to make sure his defeat is so humiliating and devastating that he must fight Hard for his Senate seat in 2 years and join John Edwards and Tom Daschle in the Forgotten Losers club.
WTH? Like 0bama doesn't? All we hear from the MSM about Palin is about her teleprompter and speech writers; like 0bama recites his own words from memory or something. What a crock.
McCain-Palin are still campaigning big time in Pennsylvania, which is most definitely in play. The rest that you listed, except for Colorado, I believe are relatively safe for McCain. McCain better start kicking it out with this $160 million in ad money he supposedly has all saved up. Now is not the time to tuck it under the mattress, and he’s gonna need to run ads for at least a week to see major effect.
vaudine
NH with 4 and Nothern Maine with 1 are insurance electoral votes that would get McCain 270 in a very possible scenario.
1300 inside, there were 3,000 outside.
McCain doesn’t have the 160 million the RNC does. They are going to kick loose later. The theory is this, and it is true, the last ads people see are the ones they remember. Bozo is shooting his wad now and the Republicans will hammer the ads in the last week or so of the campaign. Ditto with the NRA, which has about 40 million plus the PAC which has about 200 million. We will see more ads soon and they will be in numbers.
If you read the article you should know that 1300 were all they could fit inside the building and they had to turn many more away. I think the Campaign would have learned by now that Sarah draws huge crowds.
She’s doing more than one campaign event in New Hampshire.
They should have rented New Hampshire International Speedway in Loudon, NH!
I’m OK with positive at rallies so long as Obama is exposed in ads and in debate. Thus far that’s a no go.
Exactly, I hope that folks don’t take “1,300 is terribly low” as a put down of Gov Palin, not at all, she packs the house.
Loudon would have been a good place to hold the rally.
