Good point—I always thought that socialism was a huge catch-22. It doesn’t work unless you have perfect people, and if you had perfect people, no one would ever think about socialism. It’s the whole 20th-century utopian dream, which always ended in disaster and millions and millions of people dead and displaced. Capitalism takes people as they are: social status-seeking, ambitious, wanting to get ahead, and harnesses that to create wealth for everyone (even the relatively lazy or incompetent). Socialism is like the old joke about becoming a millionaire—okay, first find a million dollars. For socialism, it’s finding people who aren’t ambitious at all; that’s why the super-rich love it (they’ve got their status and see it as a way of pulling up the bridge after them) and lazy idiots love it (they see it as a way of getting something for nothing). Notice how, right at the very end, 0bama talks about hard work AND LUCK? These people think wealth is created by luck and unfairness rather than a dream, hard work and persistence. I’m just on the edge of starting my own business, but I’m not as willing to do it if 0bama and Pelosi are 60% partners. Those “next people that come along” that 0bama talks about to that plumber would be helped by job creation like that plumber is making, not handouts and wealth redistribution.
BTW, McCain never mentions that 0bama will eliminate the FICA cap, essentially taxing anyone making over 97K an extra 3%—and their employers an extra 3%. So essentially, he’s making social security into another welfare program, just like he’s doing with his “tax cuts,” which are welfare (like the “earned income tax credit”—welfare).
Robin Hood was a tax cutter. Robin Hood should be a conservative icon ... not a liberal stooge.

The sad thing that the Dems don’t realize is that BO and Biden are going to punish everybody if elected.
In 1991 Biden introduced legislation (SB 266) that compelled developers of encryption systems to give Big Brother the unencrypted original plaintext. A great public outcry made Biden back off.
Before Clinton was elected, some nerds thought that Al Gore would be on their side WRT First Amendment Rights. However, Big Brother got to Gore before he was inaugurated, and Gore became a champion of the “Clipper Chip,” which would provide a back door for Big Brother.
Very ironic, but people who think that Dems would be on the side of the First Amendment are going to be disappointed.

Robin Hood knew prince John was abusing the confiscatory taxes, so he just sought to return the money to the people who paid them.
At least prince John had the conscience to conceal his crimes. BHO tells us flat-out that he's taking money from the working class to give to the non-working class, which is nothing short of buying votes so he can obtain & keep power.

That happened as well. First the fund raising was for the war effort. Later the fund raising was for his ransom after he was captured (by his own side).
