What does it mean when she says I had to prove to him I wasn't a bigot, so I went and laid down on the black guy's bed? It means that she was a child of the sixties fraught with all of the conflicting messages that she received from her parents, her friends and the culture at large on issues of race and sex. Yeah she was mixed up. But even if she was drunk or on drugs that is no defense (legal or otherwise) for those that raped her or facilitated that rape. Does she bear some responsibility? Of course. Does that exonerate her attackers? Not in a million years.
Just one more reason why Bill Ayers should have spent his life in prison rather than as a 'distinguished' professor who served on boards of directors.

That’s fine. I’m probably splitting hairs. I don’t know what the legal term for what he did would be. Aggravated something-or-other. I still doubt it would be judged to be rape. But I don’t really care to debate it on and on.

In 1965 when this took place she was already 19 or 20 years old and a sophomore in college, I think that she was more a child of the fifties.
