That’s fine. I’m probably splitting hairs. I don’t know what the legal term for what he did would be. Aggravated something-or-other. I still doubt it would be judged to be rape. But I don’t really care to debate it on and on.
I respect that. I think what hung you up is the issue of personal responsibility and on that you are exactly right and I do agree. It’s like the age old question of whether the woman who dresses provocatively is inviting sexual assault. I believe that courts have come down on her side over and over. But she is still an idiot for dressing that way.
But in situations like tho one described in the article, one’s ability to rightly conceive of personal responsibility or to act on that is compromised. And as ecomcon put it, “ You don’t get to rape someone just because she’s a basket case.”
That is rape. Sex despite expressed lack of consent, and under the duress of a threat of force or violence. You are an ugly goon to try to argue otherwise. Again, if you want to know why conservatives are dispised look in a mirror. You are trying to split an unsplitable legal hair on something that decent people know is just plain wrong.
