Friends, conservatives, countrymen,
It's time to recognize a basic fact: We are in a civil war. It is obviously not the civil war of pitched battles and 600,000 dead. It is a low-grade—but omnipresent—political and social conflict, and though it is not an open war, it does involve violence.
Of course, only one side is fighting it as a war. The left sees every area of society as a battleground, and they will use any and every tactic at their disposal—including violence—to achieve their aims.
This is, of course, nothing new, and before we can talk about recent violence and other criminal events—and the possibility of a dramatic escalation thereof—we have to take a quick look at history.
Using a bird's-eye view of American history, one sees a disturbing trend: The Democrats and the left (once different, now synonymous) have been waging a civil war against Republicans since the end of the last one in 1865.
By 2004, the trend was well-established. Shots were being fired into GOP headquarters. Thugs were breaking into offices and physically assaulting the workers therein. Vandalism was widespread, threats were common, and battery was on the rise.
Looking at this trend required this author to ask a question: Was there an equivalent coming from our side?
I did some research—admittedly cursory at first, and then more thoroughly. I will readily confess that I did not have the time to perform the kind of research that, say, someone like John Lott would perform to get a complete statistical picture in pursuit of a book on the subject (though this is something that Modern Conservative will be doing soon.) Nonetheless, I was unable to find any coherent trend of political violence directed from the right at the left. Plenty the other direction, though, which led to my first exploration of this subject, titled Democrats are more violent. In fact, there's no comparison.
Research continued, and it led to more discoveries. Among them was that this violence was nothing new; it has its roots in Reconstruction and the (first) Civil War.
Indeed, I learned that Democrat anger at the election of Republicans—and their willingness to use physical street violence and destruction of property to express that anger—goes all the way back to the election of Lincoln. The election of the very first Republican president was an occasion for street thuggery on the part of the Democrats, and little appears to have changed.
During Reconstruction, we saw the worst massacres in American history—perpetrated by Democrats against Republicans. Hundreds of Republicans, whites and blacks, were slaughtered by Democrats for the crime of being Republicans. Thus, it was greatly frustrating to hear the Virginia Tech massacre, horrific though it was, described as "the worst massacre in American history." It wasn't even close, and saying it was was either the result of laziness or revisionism—not surprising, given the fact that media, nearly all Democrats, certainly would not want to call attention to their bloodthirsty history.
More research led to shocking realizations about presidential assassinations and attempts, and about just how low some lefty thugs feel compelled to go.
Again, this research is less than 100% comprehensive. Nonetheless, the record is disturbing. The Democrats/left display an ongoing willngness to use violence against Republicans. No appreciable equivalent appears to come from Republicans.
Enter 2008.
Added to all this history is a new phenomenon: The left has a new quasi-messianic figure, around whom a crazed and cultish movement is growing. As a part of this developing cult of personality, several trends have arisen which, when added to the low-grade civil war we are discussing, offer disturbing possibilities for the future. There is even a vibe developing that is chillingly reminiscent of the rise of 20th century fascists like Mussolini and Hitler.
Added to that are other activities and trends that make for the possibility of a grim ride for America—and specifically for those who oppose Barack Obama—in the near future. Quoting from the afore-linked article:
Recently, Republican rage at this trendline—and at the notion that a candidate who appears to be nothing more than a creation of the radical left is actually ahead in the polls—has boiled over into a few comments at a few McCain-Palin rallies. A few comments. A few times.
Of course, the media has seen this and decided to suggest that a rage-fueled right wing fascism is about to swamp the country. Meanwhile—and without any shame whatsoever—they ignore ACTUAL violence, threats, crime, and intimidation coming from the left. They ignore the fact that while John McCain is trying to decry what little is coming from his supporters, Barack Obama appears to be tacitly encouraging much worse behavior from his.

It's Time to Act
Look at the links above regarding recent trends. Read the analysis and historical information linked earlier. Put it all together with what you are seeing with your own eyes here in 2008. Is it a full-blown, hot war? No. But look at the trends. Look at who does what to whom. Look how it is reported, and look who is tacitly calling for more.
Now . . .
Imagine a scenario where Obama loses a close election. You think violence will end at that point, or increase?
Worse still, imagine a scenario where Obama wins, and the margin of his victory is ACORN's vote fraud. When we go into the street to protest this fraud—and we would—what do you think will happen to us? And who will the media portray as the perpetrators and the victims?
No matter what happens, we're looking at trouble with a capital T.
To all decent Americans (especially those in the "middle"):
Please recognize the truth of this. I know that the media, Hollywood, and academia have woven a fog so thick that the truth is barely discernible. But please, try to peer through the mist and see that this is not a two-sided situation. While there is the occasional incident from the right, all evidence is pointing to the idea that the ratio of the left as perpetrators of political violence to the right as perpetrators is 100 to 1. (The same appears to be the case for voter fraud, by the way, but that is another issue.)
Is this what you want in America? A political climate with one side using violence, crime, and threats against the other side? A media that works, shills, and lies for one side rather than just reporting the facts?
To the media, who aid and abet everything the left does—who covers for their every criminal, violent, and threatening act, while fibricating™ a reality where Republicans are the culprits:
What, you think they won't come for you eventually?
You think that just because you're on the left and you want the left to have more power, that you won't end up on their target list when that power has sufficiently expanded?
You think it was just an isolated anomaly that the Senate threatened ABC's broadcast license because it was about to air something they didn't like? Think again. Get them more power, and that'll be just the beginning.
To the left:
We're on to you. While we have no interest in being like you, we will not sit idly by any more while you use threats, vandalism, and assault and battery as a mode of political "speech."
. . . while you fire shots into our campaign headquarters.
. . . while you punch handicapped girls in wheelchairs because you disagree with her parents' politics.
. . . while you throw molotov cocktails at our homes, cut our brake lines, and threaten our children.
. . . and while your presidential candidate uses subtle code to endorse a climate where these attacks become a tool in his campaign and his vision for America.
To conservatives and Republicans:
Make no mistake, this is a war.
Since they're going to say we're the bad guys whether we fight back or not, we might as well fight back.
Since those who "buy ink by the barrel" have already picked a fight with us—and are waging that fight with extreme prejudice—we might as well fight the media too (are you listening, GOP candidates and elected officials?).
They'll punch you in the nose, huck a molotov cocktail on your lawn, and then call you a racist and a fascist for complaining about it. They'll perpetrate violence upon you and then say you're the violent one. Only one question remains:
Are you going to sit back and take it?
We are not like the left. We are not perfect, but we are not like them. This means that we do not behave like them, even in the face of this unremitting, low-level onslaught. Yes, we have the occasional miscreant, the occasional deviation from decency, and to those among our ranks who perpetrate such acts, we say please, check yourselves before you wreck yourselves.
But for every one of ours like that, there are 100 or more of theirs. Their acts have tacit official endorsement and gain cover from the media. It's very likely to get worse, and if we don't start responding, it will serve as an invitation for more. Use every tool at your disposal—short of violence (unless your health and safety are directly threatened)—to respond.
The Founders did not their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honors to create an America that looks like this.
Conservatives, this has to be a call to arms. You didn't start this fight, but by God, you can finish it.

We were originally founded on Christian principles.
We have few left ... at least in the government. Man can not create utopia. No way. We had a form of government ... A REPUBLIC... founded on democratic elections, etc.
The people with eyes to see have long been complacent, even apathetic.

For years looking at Europe, and what has been going on there it has been a puzzlement to me as to (they are declining in most all areas).
Yet we follow behind them; walking down the same destructive paths.
Satan is the prince of this world; and where ever there is evil ... he is there behind the scenes. It is not armies that will out...
It is turning to God repenting of our faithlessness;sincerely, earnestly, calling on the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and the Father of our Lord Christ Jesus, to hear our cry to intervene and turn away from us the powers of this world.
The Bible tells us that there will be persecutions and sufferings, we are to endure until He returns.
In the meantime ... it is up to us to...
VOTE THE PRINCIPLES OF THE BIBLE. GOD'S VALUES.
We are so easily caught up in the affairs of this world that we avert our attention to the mess we have allowed or condones.
Prayer is the answer. Humble ourselves before our God and ask for mercy on this nation and forgiveness for our souls.
We can not defeat satan without God's power. We do err when we look elsewhere.
I do not suggest we agree with what is happening ... quite the contrary.
We are an example to the people around us. Let us get right with God and He can and will do miracles.
Of our own selves we can do nothing without Him.
What would it be permissable to use the enemy’s tactics? If the enemy uses guerrilla warfare and roadside bombs, would it be okay to do the same?
As for secession, Texas could do it if we didn’t have so many RINOs in Austin.

Unfortunately, a lot of lefties DO have firearms and considering their penchant for violence I think it might be a good idea to be prepared for anything after the election.

Civil War II Bump
Last time I checked the Southern Democrats were always accused of using poll taxes and literacy tests to keep poor people from voting. How you translate that into government of, by, and for the unproductive I’ll never understand.
No one today supports slavery (thankfully) but the idea that Obama is the direct ideological descendant of Jefferson Davis is ludicrous. Southern conservatism, which is the only thing really keeping America from becoming a Euro-Socialist planned & controlled society, is the direct outgrowth of resistance to centralized federal power circa the Civil War era. Obama is the result of the remaining old school Southern Democrats being purged from the party in the 1960s, leading to the radical left and the multicultists seizing the party from both the old guard conservative Southerners and the Scoop Jackson type patriotic Dems in the North.
When? Despite what the media and self annointed experts say, the only acts of violence are coming from the Socialists.

I’m of the opinion that the author is essentially correct. So are the posters who say that it is a very one-sided war, so far.
This is a cultural war, between those who value individual liberty and minimal government (us) and those who crave receiving the benefit of the productive activities of others for “free” and the heavy hand of government to ensure that everyone stays in line.
IOW, this isn’t a new conflict in human history - but it is new to our shores. As is usually the case, those who are power-hungry have a plan, one that has been in place for a long time (with modifications to fit somewhat changing circumstances over time, but with the goal unchanged). Part of the plan is to keep the opposition asleep at the switch, and that has largely succeeded.
I see Obama’s election (should he win) to be the culmination of decades of work by the other side’s faithful. He will, in short order, begin the dismantling of the USA as we know it. Not is a physical sense, of course, but culturally. He’ll ban free speech - with some kind and soothing words about “fairness” etc. - and by having some of his minions threaten to pull the broadcast license of any TV or radio station that would runs ads or shows contrary to the approved fare - behind closed doors, of course. It wouldn’t do to let the cattle know that they’re headed directly to the slaughterhouse.
Guns in civilian hands are, of course, the ultimate tool for resistance - and they will simply have to go. Not all at once - that’d be the spark to set off a hot war real fast, not what BHO or his masters (like Soros) want.
Here’s what I believe will happen if BHO is elected (by hook, crook or riot):
1. Shortly after taking office, BHO will ban all imports of firearms, ammo, gun parts and ammo components. He’ll also quietly start pressuring gun and ammo (& parts and components) producers to enter into exclusive contracts with the fed.gov or various state agencies, as in “You WILL agree to sell nothing to civilians, and in return we’ll buy all of your production (up to certain limits) to guarantee you large profits - either that, or we’ll sign a contract with your competitor and buy nothing from you. Capiche?” Ordnances will be passed to severely restrict the number and location of FFLs and ranges, and even if gun shows aren’t outlawed the BATFE will openly film every license plate and take pictures of every person entering the grounds/building. No one will want to go. Licensing fees and new taxes will be imposed - small, at first, merely symbolic...but they’ll quickly escalate to the point where 95% of present gun owners won’t be able to afford to keep or shoot them (not legally, anyway). Of course, the fed.gov will offer you some money and a pat on the back if you turn in what you’ve got (which they’ll largely know because of the 4473s that they’ve copied.
2. The “Fairness Doctrine” will be enacted by the Dem Congress and signed into law very fast. Say goodbye to Rush, Hannity, Savage, Prager, Medved, Ingraham, etc., etc. - unless they lease/buy a ship that broadcasts from offshore. Even with such a ship or several, look for some mysterious accidents, or some “righteous indignation” attacks. Before anything, opposition must be silenced.
3. There will be a “Reichstag Fire” incident perpetrated by a “member of the NRA.” Either that, or the economy will be so bad that it’ll be an “emergency.” Both ways, we get Congress passing vast and sweeping emergency powers for BHO - temporary, of course, just like Hitler’s powers after the actual Reichstag Fire were temporary.
4. Yet more legislation or edicts will be passed/handed down to effectively outlaw gun ownership. Mandatory registration, for example which, if not complied with, will give offenders a long stay at the federal graybar hotel plus lots of fines plus a permanent record. Those not complying within a certain timeframe will be guilty of a felony for each gun not registered, and will be gradually rounded up via traffic stops, etc. Informants will be paid handsomely.
5. Troops will come home per Presidential order very soon...troops with signifant experience in urban and counter-insurgency warfare. The SOB will use them against hardcore holdouts (if the local SWAT guys aren’t enough).
At some point, individuals and small groups will begin to resist. This will result in overwhelming force being brought in to quell the “criminals” or “traitors.” This reaction will, in turn, fuel an ever larger resistance. The major question will be: What will the armed forces do? If they follow orders, then we’re sunk. If they refuse, liberty will ultimately win - but don’t be surprised if foreign “peacekeepers” are brought in. I would hope for some states to secede, but I don’t think it likely.
Bottom line: the Left is fighting for keeps - permanent keeps. I believe that they (and specifically BHO and his masters) will ruthlessly destroy all opposition in any way possible. Folks, we’re IN a new Civil War, just not yet at the hot stage. The old order is already gone (it basically lost when Reagan picked Bush 41 as his Veep), and we’re at the equivalent stage of old Russia after the Czar abdicated. McCain is Kerensky, BHO is Lenin. Let’s hope that this time Kerensky doesn’t lose his nerve and actually FIGHTS for his country - because it didn’t work out so well the last time around.
The left is engaging in sedition, particularly those in office. Our side simply has no leadership or organization, except on the information front (talk radio, etc.) and some lobbies and PACs. Where will we find it? Unless the whole countryside spontaneously rises up, I'm not willing to call our troubles a civil war until one of the state governments calls out the militia.
Though I do think it would be interesting to see a state call out the militia to quell inner-city rioting following an Obama loss. The sudden appearance of 100,000+ militiamen (green, veterans, former servicemen, and hunters mixed), bringing their own arms and supported by existing Guard units, would probably be a shock to the left, and they could certainly handle the punks in a city.
It would be a nice demonstration of the ability of the right to defend itself if backed against a wall: in spite of the left's seditious activities and organizations, are their supporters capable of spontaneously forming a cohesive military unit? No, probably just rioters, who aren't going to march into the countryside after conservatives and not very far into the suburbs either. I suspect we'd have the advantage on weapon range too.
If the rebs were all against centralized federal power why didn't they release regions like East Tennessee and Northern Alabama which didn't wish to be under the new centralized federal power in Richmond?
And what's this about about the old Democrats being against multiculturalism? The southern Democratic power elite were all for multiple cultures as long as they could make an easy buck off the other culture. From the very first after the war, a Republican South would have been best for most southerners, better both for the freed slaves and better the majority of whites who survived on their own hard labor. But instead, the old Democrats successfully played their tired old tune of "us against them", the same tune that Democrats still play today.
I put NOTHING past these people. They’re after power, no matter the cost. If that weren’t the case, then why all of the lies about BHO, why put up with ACORN’s criminal activities, why assassinate the character of Sarah Palin’s 17-year-old kid? This is no game - this is life or death for our Republic (what’s left of it, that is).
Patrick Henry’s famous speech has always inspired me. It doesn’t quite lend itself to modern times though so I’ve taken the liberty of changing a few words and phrases. I’d be interested in what others think of my efforts.
More to the point, does it properly reflect what we are going through now?

No man thinks more highly than I do of the patriotism, as well as abilities, of the very worthy gentlemen who have just addressed this forum. But different men often see the same subject in different lights; and, therefore, I hope it will not be thought disrespectful to those gentlemen if, entertaining as I do opinions of a character very opposite to theirs, I shall speak forth my sentiments freely and without reserve. Let us not deceive ourselves. These are the implements of war and subjugation; the last arguments to which tyrants resort. I ask you gentlemen, what means this martial array, if its purpose be not to force us to submission? Can you assign any other possible motive for it? Has the country any foreign enemy to call for all this accumulation of firepower? No, sir, she has none. They are meant for us: they can be meant for no other. They are sent to bind and rivet upon us those chains which the federal government have been so long forging. And what have we to oppose to them? Shall we try argument? We have been trying that for the last forty years. Have we anything new to offer upon the subject? Nothing. We have held the subject up in every light of which it is capable; but it has been all in vain. Shall we resort to entreaty and humble supplication? What terms shall we find which have not been already exhausted? Let us not deceive ourselves. We have done everything that could be done to avert the storm which is now coming on. We have petitioned; we have remonstrated; we have supplicated; we have prostrated ourselves before the courts, and have implored their interposition to arrest the tyrannical hands of the federal leviathan. Our petitions have been slighted; our remonstrances have produced additional violence and insult; our supplications have been disregarded; and we have been spurned, with contempt, from the federal courts! In vain, after these things, may we indulge the fond hope of peace and reconciliation. There is no longer any room for hope. If we wish to be free— if we mean to preserve inviolate those inestimable privileges for which we have been so long contending—if we mean not basely to abandon the noble struggle in which we have been so long engaged, and which we have pledged ourselves never to abandon until the glorious object of our contest shall be obtained—we must fight! I repeat it, we must fight! An appeal to arms and to the God of hosts is all that is left us!
They tell us that we are weak; unable to cope with so formidable an adversary. But when shall we be stronger? Will it be the next week, or the next year? Will it be when we are totally disarmed, and when a guard shall be stationed at every street corner? Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot? No! We are not weak if we make a proper use of those means which God has placed in our power. The millions of people, armed in the holy cause of liberty, and in such a country as that which we possess, are invincible by any force which our enemy can send against us. Besides, we shall not fight our battles alone. There is a just God who presides over the destinies of nations, and who will raise up friends to fight our battles for us. The battle, is not to the strong alone; it is to the vigilant, the active, the brave. Besides, we have no election. If we were base enough to desire it, it is now too late to retire from the contest. There is no retreat but in submission and slavery! Our chains are forged! Their clanking may be heard on the streets of cities across the country! The war is inevitable—and let it come! I repeat, let it come!
It is in vain to extenuate the matter. People may cry, Peace, Peace— but there is no peace. The war is actually begun! The next gale that sweeps in will bring to our ears the clash of resounding arms! Our brethren are already in the field! Why stand we here idle? What is it that the people wish? What would they have? Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!

...the coming internal armed conflicts in America will be wars of secession and partition and they will not be political...they will be race based and they will be vicious beyond belief....think the Balkans in the 90s.
