'Eugenic Abortion: With Pre-Natal Testing, 9 in 10 Down Syndrome Babies Aborted

(CNSNews.com) In 1972, a year before the Supreme Courts Roe v. Wade decision legalized abortion on demand nationwide, virtually all children with trisomy 21, or Down syndrome, were born. Less than a decade later, with the widespread availability of pre-natal genetic testing, as many as 90 percent of women whose babies were pre-natally diagnosed with the genetic condition chose to abort the child.
The practice has been described by one physician as eugenic abortion.
One survey of 499 primary care physicians treating women carrying these babies, however, indicated that only 4 percent actively encourage women to bring Down syndrome babies to term.

I’m sick...this country really needs to repent.
We must get the next Supreme Court Justices!!
This election is everything.
This election means babies live or die!....My Catholic friends..can we share this statistic with your Church!
This election means babies live or die!
How many babies that were aborted were false positives?
There have been cases where the parents were told of the “news” and went forward with the pregnancy and had healthy children.
“if it saves ONE innocent life”. Yeah right, the left lies about such matters.
What you have written about is also heart wrenching.
Maybe we should stop calling them ‘pro-choice’ and start calling them ‘pro-eugenics’ and see if they can wrap their minds around that one.
One more reason to support Sarah.
Obama and his ilk have pushed this.

Aledo High seniors pick classmate with Down syndrome as homecoming queen
That's all I'm sayin'.
Men can cry, too. :P
When you link to the article look at the comment the nitwit made at the bottom of the page.
We need a Constitutional amendment to protect human life from the courts and from doctors who do not have the patient’s best interests at heart.
There needs to be a clarified protection against genetic discrimination in insurance and “abortion” decisions.
The right to life exists in our constitution but the only way to take it out of the hands of activist judges is to make it explicit in this regard.
Murdering God’s most innocent creations, is unthinkable to me. It is truly frightful what humans are capable of, this being one of them.
Like so many, she thinks the issue is about HER.
Before the Nazis were killing Jews, they went after the Gypsies and before that the terminally and mentally ill.
The Left can deny the horrorshow they are engaging in but they cannot change the FACTS.
That African woman is a very smart women :-). She told them!!
Very, very disturbing.
If these numbers are in fact true, it means that Conservative women that are Pro Life are aborting their Downs Syndrome Babies.
I am absolutely convinced that this single issue, given the leftest leaning Congress and President I have ever known of, will pave the way for what I call Planned Grandparenthood. We simply cannot sustain the costs of keeping these codgers alive. They are a drain, just ask any adult child with a parent with severe health issues. Waa Waa, I can’t send my child to college and take care of Grandma too.
Downs Syndrome individuals are truly Special People, born with a cheerfulness, and loving dispositions.
I have also worked at a hospitality establishment that employed Down Sydrome individuals, where they did a fine job in their capacity as bussers.
Why does the Endangered Species Act not apply here, if we have eliminated 90% of this species type ?
Did you know that Down Syndrome individuals DO NOT GET CANCER ?
This needs to be studied, and may benefit all of us.
Back when Mrs. Chan was pregnant, the sonogram people tried to talk Mrs Chan and me into getting an amnio. We told them we were not interested. “But what about your age?” one exasperated young woman at the genetic screening office asked my wife. “Your fetus has a one in 128 chance of having Down’s.”
“So what?” Mrs Chan replied.
“Well, wouldn’t you want to know? So you could do something about it?”
“’Do something’? You mean ‘get an abortion’. Sorry, not interested,” replied my wife. The sono tech looked at me pleadingly.
“I don’t care if our kid has two heads,” I told her. “If he comes out of [Mrs. Chan], we’ll love him.”
She looked at us as if we were crazy. We never did get an amnio. (And Baby Chan came out perfectly fine, thanks be to God!)
