Boehner wants answers about Mahoney
Politico ^ | Oct 14. 2008 | Patrick O'Connor

House Republican leader John A. Boehner criticized Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and other party leaders on Tuesday for their "entirely inadequate" response to the sex scandal that has ensnared freshman Rep. Tim Mahoney (D-Fla.).

Boehner and his GOP colleagues would like Pelosi and her leadership team to answer questions about whether they had heard allegations that Mahoney paid one of his former congressional aides $121,000 to keep quiet about a rumored affair. -snip-

Is Boehner trying to pretend he’s not a wimp? Did Nancy tell him to say this?

It sounds like Boehner is giving Pelosi the same treatment that she gave Hastert over Mark Foley.

Pelosi was able to turn the Foley affair into an indictment on the entire House GOP by accusing them of knowing about Foley and keeping quiet.

Boehner is now asking Pelosi what she knew and when she knew it. I hope the GOP doesn't rest until Mahoney is driven out of the election and a Republican takes back his seat in 3 weeks.

Calling Mike Pence. Along with the change on POTUS office, we need a new leader in the house. Mike Pence is a runaway favorite.

The problem is...

Boner demanding anything is unbelievable. He knew about a pederast for over a year and was silent. His noise now is nothing but sound and fury...

Why the hell is this guy in congress much less Leadership?

Coup now—acting minority leader— Mike Pence.

No excuses, no whining, no pity.

It is time to throw all the two-faced bums out. Dems beat the Mark Foley drum to death. Now, is the time to find out how complicit the Dems were in this affair.

Thanks for the name as I also found a person running in the district next to this one a guy named Allen West(R) for U.S. Congress he happens to be a Minority-American who is a retired LTC U.S. Army (Ret.) I wonder if he is running against Wexler. If he is he deserves some Freeper money too.

Now you & I both know that the Dems can & will run a crippled candidate & their intellectually-challenged voters will by & large vote for him. Then Pelosi will act after the election if it becomes necessary. This will allow the Fla Dem Committee the time to warm-up a relief pitcher in the bullpen.

Only Republicans can be stampeded in that manner.

I wish I could vote for Col West, but I have Sessions here in Texas, and he just voted for the bailout. Unfortunately my Congressman, Senator, and President votes will all be to keep the other guy out. That makes me feel dirty.

It was the press that whipped up the firestorm about
Foley and the unethical Republicans in 2006. After the constant drumbeat about this the msm pretty much flipped the congress.

All you'll get in the press about this scandal won't happen until after the election. He get a slap on the hand in the next term and will keep the seat until retirement.

The press runs politics in this country. With the likes of Bush and McCain to stand up for us you might as well get used to it.
