I always wondered who is dumb enough to buy viagra from a spam email that has every other word misspelled to get through your spam blocker.

What is their thinking: “Wow this must be legit because they went to the effort to make it through my junk mail filter. I can’t really understand what they are selling but it must be important becuase they went to the effort to contact me.”

While I am always grateful to hear about these busts, I think I would be more grateful if the spam quietly stopped after a muffled shot in the night, followed by a splash in the river.

A lot of them just start again later.

Judging from the ones that get past my filters, it must be that they trust themselves, since the spoofed address is their own.

I reduced our spam at work by nearly 1/2 by preventing emails from .RU (Russia) and .NZ (New Zealand) from reaching us.
