You’re right. Downtown is where the best handouts are. Crybaby central. Still, you look at TO and it’s crumbling, and then you drive 20 minutes out to Mississauga and it’s flourishing. Low taxes, excellent services (except transit because everyone owns a car), and we’re the only municipality in the black. Say what you will about Mayor Hazel, but that gal runs a city like a business — the way a country should be run.
Yep, and York Region is doing nicely also. There are two reasons for this- commercial taxes are 4x higher in the City of Toronto, and while the ‘burbs are building new roads the city has been actively dismantling the transport infrastructure so that it’s impossible to carry on a business.
