Monday, officials in the battleground state of Ohio heard testimony from voters about the organization.
In one Ohio county, ACORN submitted at least 65,000 questionable cards.
One witness said they were told they would be given $1 and some cigarettes to sign a voter registration card.
Earlier this month, a search warrant served in Las Vegas stated that ACORN required its employees to get 20 new registrations a day or forgo a paycheck.
What about those early votes? This election is tainted and election day is not even here yet.
And let me add, if the chosen one wins by a close margin, he will be considered illegitimate.
Only if enough people like you do not vote the McCain/Palin ticket. I am not happy about McCain carrying the pubbie standard for President. I don’t like bipartisan pols. I do not like moderate pols. McCain has run a tepid campaign. And we’ll just have to wait until Thursday night to seen if he finally kicks a little butt.
But he picked Gov. Palin. She is the conservative hope for the future. In fact, she is the only reason McCain is still in the race.
Therefore, I will vote the Pubbie ticket and let God take care of the rest.
This is correct. An employer can fire them, but cannot withhold pay for hours worked.
ACORN needs to be prosecuted for this also.
seriously, what are the gloom and doomers attempting to accomplish? i am not flat out calling them trolls, though likely a substantial number are, but seriously, the moaning handwringers hope to accomplish what with the OH IT”S OVER, WELCOME PRESIDENT OBAMS? if you can’t take it, if you are seriously depressed, log off, shut up and go drown your sorrows somewhere. the rest of us are going to continue on hoping for the best and working to make that happen. doesn’t make us optimistic pollyannas, but to give up now accomplishes precisely WHAT? of COURSE the left wants to demoralize and suppress voter turnout on our side to compensate for the expected bradley effect, so again, i ask WHAT do the handwringing moaners hope to accomplish?
I still think the answer to this is for all states with equal or less electoral votes to file suit as this disenfranchises those states. While we call this a federal or national election, it is actually a state election. The president/vice president are ‘elected’ by the sum of electoral votes cast for them.
When one state refuses to investigate voter fraud or voter registration fraud it has a negative impact on any state with equal or less electoral votes.
But when some newbie comes on here and just starts cr@p without any provocation, it makes people wonder just which side you're really on. Calling someone you don't even know "babe" and "oddball" when that person has not even posted to you gives the appearance of trollish behavior. And it is troll season.
If your intent was different and you had a sense of honor, you would explain and admit that you came off badly. Since you aren't big enough to do that, then I can only suspect that you are a troll.
And I don't have time for trolls.
Agreed, she might need some charm school though to make her more palatable to big city America
Systemic is the proper legal word to use. This is not a case of a few rogue employees, but is fraud driven by the rules and policies in place at ACORN. Its officers should be put on trial.
To whom are you addressing that? Me or Westlander?
i live in the northern VA suburbs of Washington, DC, which IS big city America, and she is perfectly palatable here. 20K showed up to the McCain Palin rally in Fairfax VA. she is NEVER going to appeal to liberals, so what’s your point about charm school again>?
It came off poorly, apologies.
" Senator Obama. despite your many efforts over the years to fund ACORN, including almost $ 1 million in this campaign, and your former status an ACORN lawyer and trainer, can the Americian people rely upon you to prosecute ACORN vigorously for its voter fraud and fair labor violations?"
sock sister, greetings : ) the moaning handwringers have self-identifed on this thread, you ain’t one of them....
I agree with your sentiments. However, I would rather ACORN be tried in a criminal court and not a civil court.
Oh. OK. LOL I go around beating those people up. I agree - they need to go do something besides posting their dismal drivel on here.
I always suspect the motives of those who come on here with that flat-out defeatist attitude. I like to remind them that since the election has not been held yet, the election results have not been announced yet. :-)
My guess was all the ‘gosh darns’ and ‘you betchas’ etc., while fine with me, might not play as well after her newness wears off. She might come off as more statesman like with a little work.
There are few things that anger Americans more than the idea that elections are being corrupted (witness the perceptions of 2000/Florida). Obama's long and deep ties with ACORN are easy to demonstrate, YET he will not condemn them, and did not void their contract...this will be a major issue, and together with 1,000 other "smaller" issues, will make it clear that though Obama has a clean and sincere face, his heart is a different matter. Hypocrisy, when obvious, is fatal to a campaign.
yeah and i like to point out to them that since nothing GOOD can be accomplished on this forum by the moaning they are doing, and only BAD can come of it, they should not be surprised to be called trolls looking to depress voter turnout. they should save their wailing and gnashing of teeth for the privacy of their own homes where it can’t infect anyone else. hopefully they have a sensible family there who can slap them out of their hysterical fits.
Allegra can take care of herself, but I will ask that you find a little more respect when speaking to her.
